That sounds interesting lol. Make sure you get stuck into your next week though :) I personally would be annoyed at all the formal dinners and stuff you'd have to worry about. I'd rather just be left alone to study or hang out with good friends whom I can really relate to/share stuff with, no matter how antisocial that sounds.
What's the next week like? Is it more kind of prelim stuff or do they hit straight in to the course work?

Straight into the course. There may be 1 introductory lecture for some papers but after that you're completely into it.

I've been flicking through this physics text book and I can safely say that this book RAPES the previous one. Only downer is that it has no questions T_T Study group should get under way as soon as the lectures start. Can you guys help me organise it? (ie booking study rooms in the library etc?) If you could that would be much appreciated. Also any ideas on what we can do during the sessions would be great. Cheaaa =]

Btw...I'm LOVING Aquinas. Food is great, view is amazing, people are friendly. It's perfect...bar that dreaded hill!

At City College we can not use MSN so, I can only contact you guys through MSO........:(

Have you set it up? You gotta do something with the proxy for it to work.. Go to the IT people at the library and they'll give you instructions.

The alcohol talk was pretty interesting..

So glad I have no 8am lectures

And labs on monday.. Gotta get me a labcoat

Yeah the alcohol talk was a real eye-opener (not that I drink or anything). The part when that old man on the streets was asked "why is your life like this now?" left me awestruck.

Btw post your lecture times!! We might be in the same lectures/labs!! (:

You should be down here already!! Most things you can buy at supermarkets, it's hard to type up a list of everything.. Just bring the essentials and after being down here a few days you'll realise what you need.

Time Table

Hi Folks:
I guess everyone should have their Timetbale ready to go for Monday.
I got Hubs 191 in castle 2 at 8am on Monday and Friday and the rest starts from 9am Yeah. So I don't have to get up so early!
I'm not sure what stream number my timetable is, can anyone tell me how can I find out my timetable stream NO. ? thanks

Er I don't think there's such a thing as a stream number for HSFY timetables. You just go onto PIMS and look at your full timetable there.

For the study group we could meet at:

Central Uni Library (great study group rooms -those glass rooms- ie. talking is not an issue, but no access to the health sci books)

Science library (close to St Dave lecture theatre, all the health sci books on reserve -more than the med library, but there are no group study rooms -or any that I saw downstairs)

Med Library (close to town centre -across road from hospital- good, less than science library, access to the health sci books, again no study rooms.)

I would suggest the science library, I think it would be alright in hushed voices. I just read on the science library page that they have facillities for group study, so I think the science library is a go go. :)

Anyone disagree? Also, what day, time and day of the week would be good for everyone?

I wonder if the central library is open during evenings (like 6,7, 8pm etc). I think that would probably be an ideal time for everyone given that we've all got mixed timetables.

EDIT: For those who have labs between 6 and 9pm, get them changed!! (:

Personaly i think the uni library would be a better option. Would it be annoying having to talk in hushed voices all the time? and also is access to the health sci books essential?

Here are the open hours:
https://www.library.otago.ac.nz/hours/index.php

I just found out that there are study rooms for groups at science library so you dont have to talk hushed. Also I think that having the books handy would be great, cause if someone has a question then they are close by and can be answered easily.

anyway, wherever you guys want to go il go :)
