Like Froot said: CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are halfway through the game! Do take a break over the next three weeks, its well deserved. Don't bother looking ahead on the material for next sem (not worth it, you're going to get taught it anyway, it'll only waste your break) but it is worth doing some UMAT practice. If you're going overseas, I envy the hell out of you. But while you're out, have a holiday, don't do what I did and lock yourself in a room, doing UMAT study.
And I will disagree with Froot here: IT IS OK TO BE SOBER!!! It is possible to have fun without alcohol! Trust me, I do it all the time...

I'm very late, but OMG WE'RE DONE WITH MORE THAN HALF OF HEALTH SCI!!! :D

On a different note, how did everyone go? Hope you all went well :)

posting in a dead thread

[OFFTOPIC]hope everyone is enjoying their holidays! :)[/OFFTOPIC]

This thread is still going in holidays. For the love of god..

Right seriously. Future posts to be productive!

Hi would anyone have BIOC, HUBS, EPI slides from last year that they can pass onto me? I want to get them printed in the uniprint shop and get them bound and everything to save money on photocopying for semester 2. I would really appreciate it :)

Hey guys, I've only found out about this forum today. (Wish I had at the beginning of the year. So much useful info's!!!!)

I am currently doing HSFY 2012 and hope to get into Med or Dent.

Also wish to get to know more people doing HSFY, current friend count in Otago: 4 (flatmates)

If my sources are correct (and they are), HEAL has undergone quite a revamp this year, so last year's slides are unlikely to be of much use to you.
Also, welcome to MSO, HCHC!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has done their immunity status blood tests? If we are doing it outside of Dunedin, do we first go to a GP to get a form and then get the actual blood tests done at lab test places? I'm not sure how it works so if someone could explain this to me, it would be much appreciated! Thank you.

Probably easiest if you just go to your GP, my GP just took the form, and the blood, and then sorted the rest. Then all you have to do is get your GP to send the results to you once they get them, then hand the results in with your application. You can find the form on the health-science faculty website.
If your GP can't take care of it themselves, they should at least be able to tell you where to go (probably southern community labs, or whatever the equivalent of that is where you live).

Hi noblelady777 - I'm heading into student health tomorrow to get my blood testing done - I'm assuming that they will explain more from there.
Take a look at the following link Application for Admission to Health Sciences Professional Programmes, Division of Health Sciences, University of Otago it should take you to the forms, and you can continue to the guidelines which explain things a bit more in - depth. Remember to take the immunity form with you for the blood test. XD
