They did a blunder. They released previous years' MCQs with answers at the start of the year, then withdrew them and only put the questions up. Of course people had downloaded them and kept copies (they were up for quite some time), but seeing the questions and possible answers already helped a lot obviously.

You wouldn't still have a downloaded copy would u skyglow... that could be quite handy if they decide to be lazy this year (yy)

I'm sure some of the 3rd years will still have a copy floating around. Make friends with some of them at Orientation. (yy) I might even have one. (y)

I'll be your friend, ImOnABoat. I really think you are quite good looking:drool::heyes: lol

Really? I'm flattered. (yy)

In all seriousness, talk to some of the 3rd years that should be floating around Orientation. Make sure you talk to the 'cool' ones or some of them may think you are trying to cheat. Come find me. I should be around.

Lol how do you know if someone is cool? In other words steer clear of the note burning, wrong answer telling kids?

What do the 3rd years actually do at orientation?

Try find Skyglow. He is a cool cat. He knows most people. :)

Yeah I meant those people. Meet them and remember their names and post them here or something. Someone is bound to know and them. They need to be told to play fair.

I think the 3rd years run Orientation I think. Well the fun stuff anyway. The boring stuff go to the others.

I help everyone who needs it. Just ask.

All the Knoxies I've met seem kinda arrogant, this is probably a minority though. Maybe the fact they are a select bunch goes to their head a bit.
I know some people who are at Knox, while nice they are a bit spoilt.

Just my opinion though:lol:

Yeah that put me off going there, you'd have to have a fair bit of money to be able to afford variation in formal wear every night, especially if you are a girl. For guys it wouldn't be as bad, but you would need a few different outfits.

Thats a reason why I chose Selwyn, had tradition without needing to be rich. I think Carrington was actually my second choice

I went to the Otago open day with a group from my school, and the night beforehand we had dinner at selwyn. They invited us to a Knox vs. Selwyn swimming contest that night. The supporters from both colleges had some... interesting chants. I suspect the children in the paddling pool nearby learnt a lot of language that night their parents would rather they hadn't.

This wouldn't be more of the good old knox selwyn rivalry now would it SASOL? :p

I agree though that knox is a bit uptight and odd. One tour of the place was enough to put me off for good!

Oh yeah the language lol, mum lectures me all the time about it.

Maybe a little bit is rivalry, but most is just the fact I don't like how they promote wealth as being a neccessity, not any old average joe could afford to go there. Its abit weird to expect your residents to sport expensive attire at each dinner. If it was me I would probably wreck a nice shirt by slopping food on it!!

Haha, as an ex-knoxie, it's interesting to hear what other people think. As at any hostel, I think you're going to get arrogant people, and then more down to earth people. We're not all horrible and stuck-up!

It's kindof cool to have the tradition of dressing up-and Knox does keep its old traditions alive. Like bathing! haha

Because most people stay 2yrs, you get to know each other really well. Having a hostel consisting of half-2nd year, O-week is always crazy and heaps of fun!

I think Knox is actually one of the cheaper hostels per week. And the food is really good (I've heard it's much better than others anyway). Boys can wear jeans every night except Sunday, with a shirt, jacket and tie. It doesn't have to be too expensive.

Yeah I guess I just happened to come across arrogant people, of course the majority will be nice:lol:

Wouldn't it become a fashion parade for the girls, always trying to out do each other? lol
