Hey guys, I got:

If I'm GWS, what are my chances of getting WSU unbonded or Newcastle unbonded or UNSW Kensington unbonded if my atar is 99.85?
Like would I need to beast mode the interview (basically I dont understand the chances of getting bonded/unbonded)
Bonded means you have to work in rural area for 3years after finishing your followship training. 28percent of students are bonded which their rank is relatively lower than unbounded ones.

Does anyone know what UCAT score was 95th percentile last year?

On this note how hard is UNSW KEnsington compared to dubbo and port mac

Hey guys wanted some advice, there are some kids in my cohort currently who are from high-privileged backgrounds and live in north Sydney, they did the ucat and done very well, however they have paid for services so that they can be registered as regional/gws applicants. Apparently, this is quite common and some people lie about their location so a lower mark can be applied, who do you complain to or is there not much you can do. Its a shame people are taking places of regional and GWS applicants through lying.

What do you mean by ‘paid for services’?

As in registered addresses which were not their actual address as their primary so that they could be considered GWS?

Both rural/regional and GWS require declaration of living there minimum 5 years. I don't think it's easy to fake. And so much risk, imagine they get to 3rd year med then get expelled if someone exposes their fraud.

The only scheme I think possible to fake is the Year12 home address in a low-socio suburb to get Monash Guarantee for Monash.

Some people pay money to people living in regional locations to add their names to certain documents so they can provide 'proof' of living in regional areas. Its honestly wild how desperate people are.

I have heard of this happening for the E12 scheme for USYD undergraduate entry.
Yup had 5 friends who did this who got more than 99.5 but less than 99.95.

did my ucat a couple weeks ago:
VR: 680
DM: 770
QR: 880
AR: 660
Total: 2990

SJT: 646

choked big time on ar when that was usually my best section
hoping i scrape 90th percentile but not expecting much in terms of interviews

I have second hand knowledge that a person I know is claiming a rural address. He is a current high school student (north shore). His sister is studying medicine.

Bro tbh ik its annoying, I too feel a bit angered at hearing this but think of it, they could literally get kicked out of uni in their last year if found out and from then on no uni would take them seeing their reputation

I can’t see that happening, tbh. Unis would have to retroactively audit the previous addresses of all their students to uncover this by chance. It just doesn’t seem realistic to me.

I suspect the practise is rampant (to varying degrees and in varying ways depending on the uni and the scheme) and people routinely get away with it, unfortunately.

It may be more possible for claiming rural since it can be 5 years in the past. Not so for GWS as it must be 5+ years to now. Someone claiming to live in GWS but attending 5+ years at distant high schools elsewhere is sus.

For SATAC for example it's a Statutory Declaration, not to be taken lightly
> https://www.satac.edu.au/documents/rural_remote_nt_statdec.pdf

STATUTORY DECLARATIONS ACT 1959 - SECT 11 - False declarations

11. A person must not wilfully make a false statement in a statutory declaration.
Penalty: Imprisonment for 4 years.

For WSU > https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/content/dam/digital/pdf/M1053MedicineREASCommunityMemberForm.pdf
"Suitable persons to provide confirmation of ASGS-RA eligibility are:
1. Any AHPRA licensed health practitioner (for example) Chiropractor Dentist Legal Practitioner Medical Practitioner Nurse Optometrist Osteopath Pharmacist Physiotherapist Psychologist
2. Any person in the following list of professions. Magistrate Member of Parliament Minister of Religion Police Officer School Principal Veterinary Surgeon.
The Joint Program in Medicine reserves the right to conduct checks on any application documentation submitted in support of entry to a course. An audit will be carried out and community members randomly contacted to verify the information supplied on this form is correct. An applicant who is found to put misleading information on this form will be dealt with by the appropriate policies of the university."

I doubt any person of these professions would risk their reputation/career to help provide a false declaration.

Hey! Did the ucat today- definitely better than last years 2730 but not amazing scores. I have a GPA of around 6.5, non-GWS, non-rural, and am in my 2nd year of bachelor of medical science. I had an issue where my computer froze in AR and lost about a minute so I've contacted pearson but I'm not sure what will come of it.

SJT:667.

Is my score even close to being realistic or not? Should I jus work on my JCU application or grind for the GAMSAT :|

Sat UCAT today for third time. A bit disappointed considering the amount of time, money and effort invested up until now. Probably not worth spending money on applying to ucat non-standard universities this year. Next year will likely be the last year I sit the UCAT, as time wise it makes more sense to just apply for postgraduate medicine. Current plan is to just keep up with GPA, keep grinding GAMSAT and apply for JCU again.

Any tips and advice regarding my situation would be appreciated.

Thank you

To answer generally for several members asking above, please do your own assessments based on the following

- WSU : Apart from meeting the ATAR/GPA hurdle calculate your formula score to see if it's above GWS 710, NSW 760 (could be 780 I don't quite remember), non-NSW 810. If clearly above these last-year marks you can be optimistic for an invite. If somewhat above or below it's borderline, have to wait see how it will turn out.
[Regarding SJT a member has posted that they got WSU invite with 520SJ last year].

- JMP : Last year was 3100+ to get an interview, which I thought was 95%ile but someone later said 94%ile.

- UNSW : My rule of thumb is 99.5 + 95%ile or 99.9 + 92%ile (or combo in between). If below 99.5 you need EAS or Gateway for an ATAR boost and/or a lower cutoff for these categories.

- UQ 95.0+ & 96%ile, CQU 93%ile, Adelaide 95%ile (80ish for SA students). But realistically since it is counted into the final ranking ATAR 96-97 rarely get a place offer.

- Monash for Vic students is 98.0+ & high %ile, or high 99s & 80ish %ile (or combo in between). Lower for SEAS & MG but hard to say how much lower. Interstate rule of thumb is 99.8 + 98%ile.

- UWA for interstates : If you have 98+ and 95ish %ile it's worth a shot. Similarly for Curtin if mid-99s and 92ish %ile.

I won't be keen to answer anymore these questions if they fall inside these determinations^. If your case is more particular you're welcome to ask further. Thanks.
Do you know about rural entry scores for UQ. Thanks

Hardest QR subsection I ever done out of all my mocks lol.

I assume it is not worth to apply to any uni for med/dent? (non-rural).

Thanks all and good luck.

hey guys, i did my ucat today and i got the following scores:
VR:730
DM:830
