Post UCAT Discussion 2024

Hi there,

I'm currently a second-year university student with a GPA of 5.7. I took the UCAT last week and scored 3190 overall, with 640 in Verbal Reasoning. I also got an ATAR of 94 and reside in the GWS area. Considering my academic and test performance, what are my chances of securing any interviews?

Thank you!

What do you mean? If you are asking about average mock scores, probably most often got around 3100.
Haha i meant for each subtest you said you focused on the overall questions correct, i was just asking what your target was for those and what you were getting on average in prep, for example 30/44 for vr

Hey A1 or anyone else who can provide info on this.
I am a non-standard WSU applicant in GWS, i read your post about JPM's formula ((3xVR + AR + DM + QR)/6) (correct me if im wrong). What were the approximate cutoffs last year for GWS and non-GWS applicants and expected cutoffs this year? Also does SJT have any weighting at all or is it completely ignored?

is it 3xVR or 2xVR in WSU formula?
It's either :D

(3xVR + DM+QR+AR) /6 or more conveniently for me (2xVR + Total) /6.

is a WSU interview offer possible with a 3290 (740 VR)? i am interstate, so i know it is probably unlikely, given my VR isn't very high.

Cutoffs last year were *approximately* 740 GWS - 780 NSW - 820 interstate.
If you are within +/- 15 marks consider yourself borderline and stay hopeful.

If I could predict the expected cutoffs this year I would try my luck playing Lotto instead haha.

Also does SJT have any weighting at all or is it completely ignored?
SJT has no weighting and seems to be a yes/no reject.
Iirc an applicant with 530ish SJT last year got a WSU interview invite and a place offer afterwards too.

_____
Edit: I have corrected WSU cutoffs last year to 740 GWS - 780 NSW - 820 interstate (unfortunately not 730 / 760 / 800).

3190 was 97%ile last year.

UNSW & JCU are likely out of reach due to the low GPA.
You should get JMP interview.

Your WSU weighted score is 745 versus 730 GWS cutoff last year. I think it should be enough.

Did my UCAT
Overall: 3130, SJT- 550
I am currently a Year 12 student in QLD. Will this be adequate for UQ metro interviews for Qlder student?

There have been so many changes I don't remember all the recent cutoffs.

You can view from this post down for the UQ invites last year (note whether they are rural/non-rural or Qld/interstate)
> 2024 Entry Interview Invites DATA COLLECTION

The lowest I see in there is a Qld 95%ile 3110 but another 3110 interstate didn't get one.

Oh right haha. I didn’t really have targets so much as just using it to measure improvement. I was generally pretty happy if I got maybe at least 85% correct answers for each of the subtests, which was maybe half of the time depending on if I was tired etc. It’s really different for everyone.

Sat the UCAT for the first time today. My scores were:

VR: 680
DM: 830
QR: 890
AR: 890
Total: 3290

SJT: 599

As a rural applicant (MM3/RA2), where can I get interviews with this score? Thanks in advance.

____________
A1 replies: Rural with 3290 you'll get interviews everywhere

3070 last year was 93%ile, if you have UES 99.95 Flinders is possible. Worth paying the SATAC application fee for it.
(Beware however, I vaguely remember SATAC or Flinders introduced a new rule 2-3 years ago that they no longer give the UES to Year12-resit applicants. Check with them whether you fall under this category, hope not).

93%ile is unlikely to get Adelaide interview but include it if you go ahead with a SATAC application. Good luck.

Hey A1 just regarding Flinders, I received an SJT of 557 in my UCAT. Is this too low for Flinders/automatic disqualification?

____________
A1 replies: This applicant got a Flinders top-up offer last year with 2960 but didn't say what their SJ score was
> Aus Med and Dent Offers 2024 Entry - Collated Data

Your SJ is a bit low, like 100 marks below the high ones. But you have +110 above this 2960 so I think you can at least hope for a top-up. Good luck.

Hi, just got my ucat score today. 2860, not sure how to feel. I’m on a 99.95 adjusted, WA local applicant about to do my Casper. What are my chances looking like for uwa and curtin?

Hi what does 99.95 adjusted mean. Do you have Broadway/Step-up?

Hi, just received...

VR: 800
DM: 730
QR: 790
AR: 890
Total: 3210
SJT: 603

ATAR predicted 99.05 - 99.95 range.

I am an NZ high school leaver hoping for direct or provisional med in AU.

Which unis am I likely to receive interview invites? Any indications would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much!

So I am currently a 2nd Year UNSW student and I got 3140 with a GPA of currently 6.0 but is most likely going to go 5.9 cuz my course just suck. I however an ATAR if 98.2. How is griffith dent, Adelaide Dent and CSU Dent looking?

I think you'll probably get UWA interview (since I have seen invites to quite low UCAT for WA locals).
Not sure about Curtin now with CASPER. It was difficult enough to track before without CASPER.

3210 is really good but it also depends on your ATAR equivalent.

Monash if 99.7+ - UNSW / UWA if 99.5+
You should get interviews for the rest : UQ, JMP, WSU, Adelaide.
Curtin is CASPER dependent. I'm not sure what the deal is for UTas these days.

Hey, A1 any replies?

___________
A1 replies: I'm not familiar with the Dent schools' requirements so have to leave to the Dent gurus when they come around.
Meantime you can look in the 2024-intake collated data thread or threads related to these schools to pick up a few clues. Cheers
