Hi, did mine a few days ago for the first time and got a 3130 (VR:640, DM:810, QR:830, AR: 850), I'll probably get around 99.0-99.9 for my ATAR (live in melbourne). Do I have any chance of doing med?

Hi, just got my ucat! I got a 2790, do I have any chance for med in aus (I'm willing to go bonded and I don't live rurally)?

Oops sorry, forgot to mention my ATAR prediction is 99.0 - 99.95.
Unfortunately 2790 non-rural doesn't look possible for any UCAT schools, unless you are local SA for Adelaide or Vic for Monash.

Your remaining options are JCU and Griffith (if Griffith has not switched to UCAT + interview yet).

You definitely should get Monash & UQ interviews. UNSW too if ATAR 99.5+.

3130 places you around 96%ile I think. It's borderline for JMP & Adelaide, not enough for WSU due to 640VR.

Oh yeh apart from dent I forgot to ask but does med look possible for me with a 3140 (730 is what I get as per the formula as per GWS). I was thinking to look at CSU Med for the JMP ?

LMG adds: FYI CSU med is JPM with WSU. The acronyms get very silly! Haha!

JMP is Newcastle and New England.

Hiya, I just finished my ucat with a 3260 (from Vic), I was wondering if this was competitive enough for interstate uni’s such as UNSW or UON and whether it was high enough for a first round interview at monash (1st preference)? Also when do percentiles come out?

VR: 760
DM: 720
QR: 900
AR: 880

Thanks 👍

Hey all, I just did my ucat in NSW and was a bit disappointed with a 3030 score. My atar trajectory at the moment is around 99.4 and I've given up on places like UON but I was wondering if I applied everywhere whether or not I'd be likely to receive any interview offers.

If your ATAR can reach 99.5 (or higher) there is a good chance of interview I think, at UNSW (hopefully 3030 is a 91-2%ile this year). And that VR is so much better than mine🥲 with a WSU formula of approx 765 (>~760 last year for NSW nonGWS last year if i remember correctly) which gives a pretty good chance at interview at WSU even if non GWS or rural. So weigh up your options for UNSW and WSU in NSW. Good luck and hope you get and smash out your interviews!

other options of interstate: you will need a better ATAR for most QLD unis, e.g. griffith and also for Flinders in SA; and Uadel and Umonash is quite hostile towards interstate as stated multiple times before - but if you are willing to study interstate; consider those options as well! Best of luck (to you and also to myself ofc)

Hey, sat my first attempt ucat today with 3040 (non-gws sydney w/no adjustment factors). Just wondering where i might have a chance at getting an interview? Atar prediction is roughly 99-99.60.

sorry, just to clarify, looking to enter into med and not dent
Thanks

if 3040 aligns to 92%ile (hopefully plz my ucat score is way wose than that so i need better alignment for %iles, anyways,) and your ATAR gets into that 99.5-99.6 or even higher range, then UNSW will probs give you interview (assuming no change in formula and cutoffs and whatever - ceteris paribus from last yr) for med. WSU/ CSU joint program in med will likely not give you an interview seeing no GWS or rural status with your formula (if i got the formula right... i am kinda bad at maths so dont judge plz and correct me) at 733.3 probs a little lower than ~760 cutoff last yr if i remember from the other threads correctly. JMP wants 95+%ile and interview chances are not too high either. But dont let me quash your hopes, i mean ur score is better than mine and good chance for UNSW if good atar.

Interstate im not sure, monash and university of adelaide probs too hard especially interstate if the other threads (including the post-ucat discussion 2023 thread holds true) with their Ucat requirements being quite high.

Best of luck though and most likely a UNSW interview if good ATAR; (my ucat and expected ATAR pales in comparison to yours) so best of luck! (also dont hold me accountable to any of the info; i am kinda new as well and just regurgitating info from other threads as aforementioned)

I am pretty sure the WSU formula for metro NSWs was 780 and not 760. (I pray it goes down this year).

Hello, just wondering if the shortcuts (alt n, alt c, alt f) work during actual ucat? It seems to me that on official mocks, they don't? It would be great if someone could clarify this!

alt n and alt c works on both actual and mocks (official mocks)

alt f becomes short cut for "find" in chrome or smthing like that
but alt f worked for me in the actual ucat

cheers

Hi everyone :)
i did my ucat around a week ago, and i got 3230 (760VR, 880DM, 890QR, 700AR and 644 SJT), and my predicted last yr (for yr11) was 99.85 (but i think it might go down this yr... still probably 99.5+ tho and i dont have adjustments), and i live in perth (WA)
i would really like to go to monash, but maybe my stats are too low :( anyway, i was wondering if i had a sliver of a shot for monash or even UWA (or any med school in aus really lol)? (im waiting on my casper results for curtin also)
any help at all would be greatly appreciated!! thanks!!

3140 would place you around 96-97%ile. You're borderline for JMP (UON/UNE) interview, also borderline for GWS (either WSU or CSU).

If your ATAR is 98.5+ you should definitely get Monash interview with 3260 local Vic.

Asking about Monash I assume you're Year12. In that case 3260 will get you UQ, JMP, Adelaide interviews.
UNSW if ATAR 99.5+. Borderline for WSU interstate.

Iirc percentiles come out 1-2 weeks after the last UCAT sitting date.

Btw why were you so stingy with your info. Asking for help but you didn't tell us if you're Year12 and /or what sort of predicted ATAR.

You'll definitely get UWA interview and JMP, Adelaide.
UNSW if 99.5+, Monash if 99.7+.
Your WSU-weighted score is a bit below last year cutoff for interstate but no harm to stay hopeful.

Please note:

1. I have corrected WSU cutoffs last year to 740 GWS - 780 NSW - 820 interstate
(I earlier wrote 730 / 760 / 800, partly due to my poor memory partly because the then
formula by MSO was close but not exactly matching WSU's (2xVR +Total) / 6 ).

2. From here on everyone please post your data in this format by DrLMG, thanks.

Thank you, do you think it is worth it to prepare or have a look into the interviews for JMP/WSU or would it be better to wait and see if I get an interview as we don't yet know how the percentiles will change this year?

It's highly unlikely that you would get JMP since the cutoff for it will likely be >3200 for non-rurals this year. If I were you I would do a bit of preparation for WSU instead since you're much closer to the GWS cutoff
