Hey guys i got a few questions. Who is
Tested: 2/8

VR: 630
DM: 740
QR: 880
AR: 890
Total: 3140

SJ: 664

Thoughts: vr was pre much my best and sj my worst in the mocks ive done on xx. somehow it all flipped haha. just waiting on percentiles now and stressing to make UQ dent's tiny 23 places
well done, may u tell us about your experience in each substrate and how it was ??

Hey, do u think year 13 is worth it? (I know u haven't finished yet but like ur experience so far).
Also I'm from SA and I might do year 13 as well lol so do u have any thoughts on which schools year 13 might be good for? (Thebarton/marden??)
In my personal experience it has definitely been worth it but my ucat score might be causing me some bias in that department. Schools I would say depends on what subjects you are doing. I wouldn't recommend Marden for science for example.

1. Can I please clarify the process for being invited to an interview once UCAT is completed?

-> Does it matter what order the WSU/UNSW/UoN Med courses are listed on UAC preferences?

-> Can people be invited to interview at more than one uni / do you only get offered an interview at your first UAC preference / if I have listed UoN as 3rd preference, is it possible to still be offered an interview based on UCAT?

2. I understand USYD requires 99.95 and UCAT doesn't count - do they have 2 interview rounds - one for HSC and one for IB?

Trying to understand the next steps in the process - grateful for any help. Many thanks.

Interviews are done outside UAC preferences, you can get an interview for any/all of your preferences. It doesnt matter what order, and as far as im aware, the uni's cant tell anyways so you can embelish a little bit on what priority a uni sits on your list in an interview.

Theres a few 'assesment days' (ie interviews), and you sit the first one after the release of your secondary results

What is the size of screen in UCAT and also regarding Verbal reasoning, what is the average total words for each passages that you get (i.e. 400 words and how much of the screen does it fill up)??

Hey Anonymous987,

In my center, they provided a ~22 inch monitor with a weird resolution (maybe 1024x768) that stretched the passages quite a bit. Regarding your VR question, it is quite specific in which I can't speak for everyone but for me, the passages were not that long - I would say max. 400 words. These values are all arbitrary so don't quote me but hope this helps :).

Thank you, and also regarding the VR section was it hard to understand and interpret the information. Were there more reading comprehension questions where you had to look for each respective options in the passage. Also how long did take you to find the right answers (i.e for least likely or what can be inferred...) ?

Now you're really pushing it... There exists a Non-Disclosure Agreement in which UCAT candidates have to be aware of before continuing with the exam. What you are asking would violate this NDA.

Keep in mind there are 3 test papers in circulation for the UCAT. What someone experienced may not be what you experience 😄

Tested: 3/8

DM: 730
QR: 730
AR: 660
Total: 2880

SJ: 677

Thoughts: Was aiming for an average score as I only had 4 weeks to prepare, super stoked with my score overall, disappointed with AR as I got distracted by a complex question and let the timer run out. QR was my weakest section in practice tests (my quick-fire maths is pretty rusty) so really happy with how my score improved (from ~600 in practice).

To the high scorers: how did you feel straight after the exam? Were you confident/unsure if you did well, or was there an element of surprise when you got your scores?

VR: 600
DM: 770
QR: 720😡
AR: 740
2840 total (💩 for non standard I think)

im pretty disappointed tbh, I hit my DM and VR goals as they were my worst subsections in practise. I scored 800+ on every single mock I did for QR even getting a few 900s, but the real test was SO MUCH HARDER? I didn’t get a single easy questions set I was honestly shocked, everything was super wordy and data filled, questions involving 4-5 calculations absolute minimum!

as for nerves I was actually really calm so I don’t think that was an issue tbh, anyway good luck to everyone else yet to do their test!!

How did you find AR?

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a high scorer (high is pretty subjective, but I got 3060), in terms of how i felt after the exam, I was most unsure about my VR score, but generally confident about QR and AR, which I did best in (880 and 870), so I guess, I had a relatively "accurate" sense of where I was at in terms of what sections I did well in, but still I think I was pleasantly surprised, I just wanted >3000, which I did barely scrape. So I think, after the exam, you can only really have an instinctive sense of which sections you did well in, but there's no real way for you to say "ah yes I will get (XYZ) as my total".

I did alright (3370) and I had 0 confidence coming out of the exam rippp… I thought I screwed up my QR but I ended up getting 870… a big big shock. (nice though)
Maybe this is just to do with my lack of confidence in everything though xd

DON'T be like this going into the interview round though, it'd instantly kill your chances haha.
Got to bluff oops... convince the interviewers into thinking the 4Cs you're the most confident, capable, competent, compassionate applicant in the whole state ;)
