Sorry but I’m really just interested in med. you know if I have a chance of acceptance with that ucat (87th percentile)?
I think JCU (dependant on your written application), UWA, Curtin, CDU and Flinders would be your best options, only if you secure a very high ATAR - are you rural/qualify for any equity bonuses by any chance?

What are my chances at Adelaide with an ATAR in the 98’s and a 96 percentile UCAT? I got an interview but I don’t wanna go if I have no chance

If you smash the interview then you might have a chance. It also depends on how high your '98' atar is.

Would any uni's let you re-apply as a school leaver/provisional next year if you take a gap year (no further study) and resit the UCAT?

Applying for: Medicine
Application Type: School leaver NZ

GWS Applicant:

Indigenous Applicant: no

Specific Question:
what are my chances of an offer for the above universities?

It's quite hard to say whether there's absolutely no chance at all or not seeing as the atar, ucat, and interview scores can vary a lot depending on the candidates. Basically I think as long as the majority of the applicants aren't all high atar high ucat scorers then there's a chance depending on the cohort and your interview performance

Just got my CSU Dent rejection with 2820 UCAT (89th percentile). Not too surprised however.

Fingers-crossed for a second-round/top-up interview offer (which I believe CSU has done historically).

This isn't Adelaide-specific but it would do everyone well to hear it: If you are invited for an interview, you do have a chance. Otherwise the university wouldn't bother interviewing you. Of course some applicants have a better chance because of their ATAR/UCAT combination than others, but the interview is generally going to be the important differentiating factor between applicants. Nobody should ever go into an interview thinking "I don't have much of a chance because of my x ATAR or y UCAT" or "I don't have to do that well here because my ATAR and UCAT are really high". Everyone should be treating the interview very seriously and ensuring they prepare on the day adequately. Nobody will gain anything from focussing specifically on their chances.

For those who don't want to make the financial and/or time investment because they believe they may have a relatively lower chance, I completely understand this perspective. It may be worth contacting the university specifically and expressing your concerns, and seeing what they have to say. Some (for example I know UNSW outright does this) will be very open with you and tell you that you have e.g. less than a 5% chance of gaining a place offer. It can't hurt to see if Adelaide or any of the other unis you may have concerns about will do the same.

In the case of the uni telling an applicant's chance, didn't this apply to lmg but only because she was interstate?

Crow replies: Yes, this was the case with LMG. I am just suggesting that there would be no harm in asking the universities if they will give you a rough idea of your chances if you have concerns about finances etc. Other than UNSW, the universities won't do this outright without you asking them, generally speaking.

I might be confused, but i thought once you got an interview for UAdel it was simply on your performance in the interview to determine whether you receive an offer or not.

ATAR is weighted 40% on your final selection rank.
