UCAT Results Discussion 2019

Thanks for your response! Oh no, I haven't received an invitation, that's disappointing (I assume they don't send rejection emails because I didn't receive an email). I thought it was 100% UCAT for interview selection...I would've thought 98 should be enough?

Yeah, we suspect they are still rolling out. They only started being reported here at about 5pm. You're not the only one with a UCAT in that vicinity without an invite yet. But we also don't know what weighting they're planning to use (if any) so it's hard to be certain about anything.

Ah, alright, thanks. My scores were VR: 680, DM: 770, QR: 870, AR: 750, Total: 3070, SJ: 712 if you wanna use them for the data. Seems like VR is worth more than other sections cause all the people with lower total scores had higher VR scores which must compensate (if I don't get an offer later). Stitch up!

Hello, apologies in advance if this question have been asked numerous times before, but does Monash University place a higher prio to Victorian applicants and disadvantage interstate applicants for interview selection? And if so, what is it exactly? I am wondering as I checked the collated data in the forum and seems like interstate applicants who got an interview have insanely high UMAT/ATAR combos, while some unspecified applicants got in the ~85%ile + ~98 ATAR . Cheers!

Just a quick question, I received my WSU invitation today and I recognise it would be because of my VR being 830. My total score was 2960 (turns out 2970 is 96th %ile...), do you think I will also receive a JMP invitation? I apologise to everyone who has higher marks than me but hasn't gotten a WSU invite, my question must look really ridiculous to you, and I hope you get one by Monday, and I am thinking of you all :)

Judging by percentile alone you are very well positioned to get an invite. However nothing can be certain as there is no longer a 50/50/50 threshold and we don't know which section they will weight the most.

i got 580+680+870+860 + 651 non-gsw (96%).

1) Is there a possiblity of recieving an interview later.
2) Do you think that I won't get an interview due to low S1+ S2 scores. I find this disheatening considering 96% is relatively high.

i got (2960) 95%ile with sections
VR = 580
DM = 770
QR = 740
AR = 870
SJ = 702
My address is also considered as Gws.
One more thing to note is that i never got an email saying that they received or processed my application but on the UAC page it says it's gone through...
1) did i miss out because of my low vr score or maybe they never received it???
2) is there any chance of getting one later?

I was told by JMP admissions that they were weighing all sections equally, however this may have changed since I asked?
Yea sure that is entirely possible as well. Looking at previous years when the UMAT was used, only section 1 was really looked at after the 50/50/50 requirement was met. The reason I spoke about potential weighting is because historically it has been done. If JMP told you that no weighting would happen then that's probably what's gonna happen.

Haha I'm in the same boat as you but got VR = 610. From the looks of it, the weighting might be heavily favouring the VR since GWS applicants who are at 83rd percentile but have a VR = 720, have received offers. Hopefully, this threshold drops a bit lower for our sakes.

They interview many more local students than interstate students, and thus the threshold required for interview is much, much lower for Victorians than the threshold required of interstate students. So your analysis is indeed correct!

What are the chances of uwa offer with 99.4 and 2970 96%ile? (I posted chance question way back but just realised I left out uwa)
You'll get an interview invite for sure. Your place offer chance will depend on your interview performance. Good luck! :)

That's just unlucky for us😅😅😅
It's a real shame that a 95%ile is worth less than an 83%ile just because of one section :(
Hopefullly jmp will be a little different

Hey, I saw that some people received invites for UNSW, JMP, etc. Are they still being sent out, as I haven't got one (UCAT: 98th %ile; ATAR: 99.60)? Are they being emailed?

UNSW is only for rural
JMP is only for NSW/QLD

I assume that your neither of those if you havent got an interview. Otherwise i suggest you check your spam folder

UNSW: unless you're rural, wait patiently until January ;)
JMP: Cutoff was 2840 so you made it, SA invites are being sent on the 11th of November.

😅Ah, awesome, thanks so much ditwingz and ucatboy!! I was worried for a minute that something had gone wrong with my application

Hi everyone,

So essentially I’m just wondering if my scores are in any way competitive for medicine. My UCAT was disappointingly 83% and it looks like I’m slated for roughly an OP2 or OP3. I do have adjustment factors through the EAS and through French (though I am under the impression they don’t apply for medicine). I’m wondering if there is any prospect of provisional entry for medicine or whether I’m just dreaming at this point. I have applied for most major universities in Australia, excluding Victoria.

I appreciate any response :)
