Unfortunately, you're unlikely to get interviews anywhere this year. Make sure you have a think about what back up plans you have in mind and best of luck for the rest of the year :D

Yes for interviews to JPM and JMP, no for UNSW.

ETA: Just saw you added Curtin. I assume your 5.75 is from a completed degree. Hopefully you nab an interview there, too, but it's hard to say as we don't get much graduate data.

Indigenous Applicant: No
Other: SCATS, EAS for Curtin (kind of confused if I can still apply for this as a non-standard) - tried emailing TISC but have not received any response.
Specific Question: Unsure how GPA is calculated especially for Curtin since they use notional ATAR and they don't specify how they calculate since it looks like they use WAM
Know that it is looking like a no from all unis butcan only hope :/

Applying to: all Australian undergrad unis except the ones in Queensland
Rural Applicant: no
GWS Applicant: no
Indigenous Applicant: no
Other: Monash guarantee and SEAS*

Specific question: Given my UCAT and local status, would I necessarily need a 99+ ATAR to have a chance at a Monash offer (ERC in particular)? Or does being local + MG mean my ATAR doesn't need to be quite so high? For instance, could I get away with a 97.5 before adjustments* provided my interview is ok? Thanks in advance 😊

* my MG and SEAS bumps a 97.5 up to 99.55 on Monash's SEAS calculator

JCU is definitely your best bet, and UNSW perhaps, depending on how SCATS affects your chances. TKAO may have a clearer idea re. Curtin. Best of luck!

Yes, you could get away with that ATAR before adjustments (99.55 with adjustments is more than enough, and coupled with your 97UCAT you should definitely get a Monash interview).

You should also get interviews at JMP, JPM, and UAdel (though make sure you apply for UES if you're eligible as your ATAR would be too low to be competitive otherwise). UNSW would look at an EAS application, so that would be worth doing, too, and apparently Curtin have something similar. Good luck!

Medicine
UWA possibly, as long as you definitely crack that 99.0.
As a local, you may also get a Monash interview, though that would be tight with an 85th%ile UCAT.
JCU will depend on your written application.
Bond will offer you a psychometric test.

Dentistry
UAdel dent was 87th%ile UCAT last year, so maybe not, unfortunately
UWA, again assuming you crack the 99.0.
JCU will again depend on your written application.

As someone with a tertiary record, you're limited to:
JPM: your UCAT is likely too low unfortunately (even as a GWS resident)
JMP: again, your UCAT is likely too low
UNSW: again, your UCAT is likely too low. You aren't eligible for EAS for UNSW, as a tertiary applicant, and have to do a SCATS application.
JCU: depends on your written application
Bond: you will get a psychometric test invite

Your UCAT is likely too low for JPM, and as you already know, borderline for JMP. UQ have introduced an interview and dropped their ATAR hurdle to 95.0, but I have a feeling gap year students are not eligible there. dotwingz can you please confirm?

Yeah unfortunately the program is restricted to people who have completed a year 12 subject in their year of application. Can I take a gap year and then apply for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) (Provisional Entry for School-Leavers) scheme? - Future student support - Future Students - The University of Queensland

Also UQ is a combo school this year, so I dont think the 95 would cut it either.

Your friend will hopefully grab a UAdel interview, given they're a SA local.
Also, UWA and maybe Curtin.
They may be in luck for UQ, JMP and UNSW interviews.
They should get a Griffith offer

Good luck to them!

86th%ile got Flinders last year, so fingers crossed! You might also get a UQ interview. Along with more crossed fingers for a UAdel spot, they're your best bets. Good luck!
