Isn't he well above the threshold for GWS WSU? (according to last year).
Whoops, I missed that, thanks for pointing it out! Worth noting that the WSU cutoffs are likely to jump significantly this year. ETA (again - I’m going mad) - this comment only applies to non-rural non-GWS applicants.

UQ doesn’t accept non-standard applicants for medicine and unfortunately your ATAR will rule you out of UNSW. You will get an interview at JMP and maybe WSU, but I wouldn’t hold out for WSU. Edit: with GWS you should be safe for an interview at WSU.

Damn, the UNSW stuff is unfortunate to hear, especially as I've been trying really hard to get a good GPA this year. What sort of ATAR is typically competitive for UNSW?

Definitely will receive interviews from CSU and UADEL (offers depend on interviews)
Unless you manage to boost your GPA to 6.5 (cut- off), you unfortunately won't receive a UQ offer :/
GPA not high enough for Griffith (6.875 GPA required last year)
Written component and rurality emphasised for JCU and unsure for La trobe (not much data for non- standard entry)
Very very good UCAT score :) , really hope you can pull through end of sem to increase your chances!!!

They combine them 50/50 with your ATAR. Therefore, if the minimum requirement is 99.25, then 198.5-99.5 (your 7GPA converted into an ATAR) = 99 ATAR at a minimum.

UNSW have also provided the lowest UCAT now. It was 2830 from memory, which equates to approximately 2910 this year. Guide only, but useful nonetheless.
Guessing he/she had a pretty high end of atar of 99.9+? So would it be safe to say i should look towards elsewhere(2910/ 99.55)? Because looking at quite a few responses from the mod, some are saying it might be boarderline others are saying its off due to ucat

You should know that the hurdles are "hard" hurdles, meaning that as long as you cross both of them, you're guaranteed an interview invite. Keep your chin up, I remain hopeful you'll clutch an interview.

As an RA3 applicant, you should absolutely apply everywhere! Including JCU.

Also, can someone provide any advice on the Charles Darwin program with UAdel? A1 are you aware of much for this? I know we had someone report an offer a couple of years ago as an NT resident and they had a <50th%ile UMAT as it was at the time. It would be worth looking into whether that is still an option. Though you will definitely get interviews all over the place. You should also do a UTAS application.

ETA: Actually, it’s with Flinders Uni, not UAdel, and is a provisional Med pathway, here’s a link Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (WCSCI1 - 2020) | Charles Darwin University

Griffith is pretty much a guaranteed offer with your GPA of 7, and naturally a 7 puts you in a great position for JCU - but getting an offer will be largely dependent on your written application, so make sure you spend plenty of time on that. UQ and Adelaide are very unlikely due to your UCAT, sorry. Good luck :)

Question: I am so shocked at people being told to not expect interviews at UNSW when I have so many friends non rural 97.5 + atar who secured spots over the past 3 years! Unless they are lying and giving me hope! I’m wondering what my chances are for WSU :)

UNSW have a hard cut-off for interview eligibility and announced themselves that the lowest was 99.25 ATAR last year. Anyone getting an interview with an ATAR below this would have had rural or EAS to boost their score, no doubt about it.

Your likely interview is for JMP. You’re a fair way under the 2020 entry requirement for WSU and it’s unlikely to drop, unfortunately (unless they change the weighting).

As a tertiary applicant, you’re not eligible for EAS and will need to do a SCATS application. It’s hard to say how that will affect your UNSW application but could get you over the line.

Specific Question: Are there any interstate universities that would be worthwhile applying to? Bond is out the question due to the fees and out of the 3 I have listed I feel only JMP is (fingers crossed) a sure thing.

I can't really answer for dentistry and unfortunately a 99 is too vague to give very good answers. We need something a little bit more concrete than that. Above or below 99.5 for example? Anyway, since you are in WA, you'll be able to get a UWA invite but not a Curtin one. Your UCAT basically puts you out of the running for pretty much all the unis that use UCAT except for UWA since they favour local residents - count yourself lucky. If you were in any other state you'd be a little dead in the water (don't want to be macabre but that's just the way it is). Griffith is also on the table is your ATAR is a 99.7+. 99.95/99.9 and maybe you could get a chancellors at UMelb or provisional at USyd. Apply to JCU with a good application and you might still be able to get an offer there. Applies to both dentistry and medicine.

Thanks TKAO.
Predicted ATAR is 99.00
