Just quickly, I'm assuming kalka means an NZ 6.57, which is probably around an Australian 5.5-6.Hi there,
I just graduated with a bachelor of science in pharmacology at the university of otago and have already sit gamsat. My gpa is 6.57 and my gamsat overall score is 56. what are my chances of securing a place the graduate dental program at the university of melbourne? Will i even be able to get an interview?
tahnks
Oral surgery was once an accredited specialty separate to OMS from what I have heard.
If you are just interested in oral surgery you could be a general dentist and just focus on that area. Many general dentists have a area of interest, like all practitioners. Implants, endo, oral surgery, ortho, perio, paeds you name it.
Maybe I misunderstand..Was the OP(s) asking about oral surg or just the post grad dental degree at Melbourne uni?

Bit late I know but here goes, there is not interview for Melboure dental program. I think you wont get a CSP offer but you might be able to get an FFP..... @Tupac4life You are not mistaken that is correct way GEMSAS calculates graduate entry GPA for NZ
Thanks for the clarification @bobby190 . By the way if you want to compete for a non-FFP i.e CSP spot at Melbourne University which is pretty much 25 spaces from what I've heard and read, would you need a GPA of 6.5+ almost heading around to the high 6.8-6.9 range and a GAMSAT of over 60?
@Tupac4life See for yourself here . Correction not 25 unfortunately only 19 this year even though they had said 25 on their website . Unless you get some amazing gamsat score (70+) you will absolutely need 6.5+ and 60+. According to this year anyway, cut off may fluctuate but realistically it will only go up. GPA and GAMSAT are weighted equally
What is the process to get into university of melbourne for dentistry?
if you're 2nd year of Science at Melbourne, but you didn't do 1st year biology but you did 1st year chemistry and you're studying 2nd year chem subject, is it still possible to satisfy the pre-reqs for DDS (anatomy, physiology and biochemistry)?
