Sorry what gateway scheme, I had assumed that this was an UAC entry application.
UNSW reserves 10 places in medicine for people who qualify for the Gateway scheme. According to their website, the criteria are:

  1. Be a domestic applicant.
  2. Attend a UNSW Gateway eligible school in a metropolitan area for at least Year 11 and 12.
  3. Live at an address identified by the Australian Bureau of Statistics as being within the lowest 25% of socio-economic disadvantage in Australia.
  4. Be in Year 12 or have completed Year 12 in the previous year and not commenced any undergraduate study.
UAC generally informs people whose home address and school are eligible for the scheme/automatically generates an EAS application for them.
Apparently you also have to select "Gateway entry scheme applicant" as applicant type when you fill in your direct application to UNSW.

How do you know that this application was done under the gateway scheme?

I don't, that's why I asked two of the people who got interview invites if they did (they had relatively low UCATs for non-rural candidates).
They might be relatively low but not low considering they had EAS, regardless of what specifically landed them EAS status.

hi does anyone know typically around what time UNSW offers are sent, is it like JMP where its normally from 1am-3am or is it in the morning? Also is it sent by UAC or the uni? Thanks

sent by UAC, so I assume all offers would come at around the same time (1-3am)

Has anyone been able to see an early offer in the UNSW accept offer portal sort of similar to what people are able to do with JMP?
