how many u recon they offer interviews for in non-rural section
This info is available in the UNSW Info Evening video but I give a summary here.
Last year UNSW invited 150 out of ~200 rural applicants to interview for 50 places,
450 out of 2,200 non-rural applicants for ~140 places.
(Note the 150 out of 200 for rural, it's why their interview selection cutoff is significantly lower).
Previous years the instate round was by online booking. Not sure how they will do this year.
Btw the interstate round was by replying to UNSW's email indicating 3 prefs out of the 10ish time slots given. Someone at UNSW then arranged manually to give the nearest available.
For those who attended UNSW for medicine, did you find the ILP to be one of those things that you just had to do because it was unavoidable, or did you find it to be an interesting experience that allowed you to develop research skills which proved to be useful in a medical setting. I guess I’m just curious about it because it sounds like it would be an enjoyable and useful part of the medical degree, and I wanted to know if people who have done it have found it to be so.

Correct. You pick both the date and a time when booking an interview on the portal.

Today I received my ATAR of 98.55 and I want to get into UNSW Medicine next year after studying a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Studies at UNSW. I was wondering about the GPA to ATAR conversion done by UAC - is there a feasible chance that if I achieve a high GPA and a high UCAT Score that I will be able to receive an interview offer from UNSW next year?

Ngl, if UNSW has this threshold of 99.25 atar, you won't get in no matter how high your ucat or gpa is since university atar is capped at 99.5

I just graduated this year in NSW with an ATAR of 99.8. Although I felt like I had worked hard for . my UCAT my result was pretty disappointing, with 70th percentile. As a result i haven't gained any interviews and am looking for some alternative pathways.
Is it possible to gain entry into medicine from an application next year with a new UCAT score and my ATAR?
By this I mean I will retake my UCAT next year. Is it possible then to apply again with this new (hopefully satisfactory score)?

Yes, at the moment I'm quite adamant on staying in Sydney actually for personal reasons. I'm planning to start med science next year whilst studying for the UCAT just in case. Is it possible to apply again with my ATAR in this way?
