UNSW UNSW Medicine: General Entry Questions and Discussion

Hi I'm kinda new here but saw the UNSW thread and thought I'd give it a shot. I got my interview offer for UNSW today, and was wondering if there was a compilation of the question style/past questions (like there is for JCU) for UNSW interviews. I'm probably asking in the wrong place, so sorry in advance ://

I’ve never seen a compilation of UNSW Qs myself. Interesting since there was no NDA this year (I assume it’s the same every year). I’ll be happy to share once all interviews are done

In the email they have an overview. It is a panel interview where they try and get an idea of you as a person. So I have heard it is different to other panel interviews

In addition to Cal, maybe this link would be helpful
start watching from 26:30 to 27:35

It’s hard to describe how the interview is without giving the questions away but I think the student in the video describes it very well. It might sound like she’s vague and not really being honest but if I was to give advice without telling you the questions then I’d definitely try and describe the questions just like the student did.

eek my email just says "he interview is structured and designed to find out more about yourself and your life experiences. It is important that you relax and answer the questions honestly" i was hoping for something less vague :(((

I honestly think they are being as specific as possible without giving away the questions. I wouldn't be too worried about unsw preparation, especially if they word it like that. Maybe Smelly Boy can add onto whether he thinks prep is important or not. But based on prior info and what they have said, it doesn't seem like prep will help too much.

I would definitely say that prepping with a friend and getting them to ask questions about you (just as the student said in the video) is easily the best way to prepare. Listen to the questions, relax and be honest. That’ll get you in (hopefully 🤓).

As Cal said unfortunately they’re giving you as much info as they’re willing 😔 I thought I’d add that you could try The MSO Interview Portal I found it quite useful!

Any applicants tried this, this year? Hope this is right thread Quick Questions Thread #2: 2018-2019
You can try if you want using this link. No one I know has had this work for them yet. I think UNSW times it so that it’s ready at 7:30am or something like that.

we are like 3ish hours away so I think it’s best we all just watch Da Ali G show episodes on YouTube until we get the (hopefully) good news from UAC.

omggg good luck!! meanwhile ib applicants still have their unsw interviews in a week rip

Hey guys, I'm confused because in my UAC email it said: 'You do not meet the additional selection criteria for the following:

  • Pref 1 428000 B MedMD or B Arts/B MedMD at UNSW 17 Feb 2020 (Course type: CSP)
even though I fulfil all the ATAR requirements and attended an interview. Does this just mean there were more competitive candidates ?
