Hi, I have a question regarding UNSW Medicine through the RSES.

Can I still move to a Sydney clinical school for Phase 2 and/or Phase 3 of the program if I am offered a place at Port Macquarie for Phase 1? I know it says students are "normally expected to remain at a rural school", but is Sydney still an option?

A friend who goes there (in the year above) has told me that he will be able to move to the Kensington campus after Phase 1.

I believe it is still the Port Macquarie campus and that UAC just puts Kensington for all

He's non-rural. He said that you have the option of choosing a campus for Phases 2 and 3, although it's "expected" (I'd say highly encouraged) that you choose to stay at Port Macquarie.

This is not necessarily correct, it has been changing the past couple of years

has it been done?? i mean i dont mind even if its second year or whatever
This is hard to answer as the rules have been changing every year.. if you have special circumstances maybe but the idea now is those who start on mid north coast will finish there

Not really, although I did explain the situation to them (although I'm sure they're aware of my problem, and I might have come off as condescending). I wrote this, supplied my reference number and added a bunch of thank yous and sorrys:

I understand that the MAP is closed, however I was really hoping that I would be able to remove Port Macquarie from my Campus preferences and change it to “Kensington only”.

As UNSW medicine essentially has 4 options (Kensington CSP, Kensington BMP, PMQ CSP and PMQ BMP) and UAC doesn’t give a seperate preference entry for PMQ, I’m put in quite a difficult position!
UNSW Kensington is ultimately my first choice, however I put down that I would be willing to go to PMQ (as any offer is better than none). However, above PMQ, I would prefer to go to JMP. My preference list would be: UNSW Kensington > JMP > UNSW PMQ

As medicine offers in NSW only have 1 round (not including top up or interstate rounds), if I were to receive an offer from PMQ, then I would miss out on any potential offers from JMP, which I would much more prefer. That is why I was hoping to remove my preference for PMQ through UNSW.

I really hope you were joking with taking a JMP offer over Port Macquarie :)

Hey all,

Congrats on all of your offers!!

If anyone will be attending the UNSW Port Macquarie campus this year we have created a group so everyone can get to know each other and keep in the know before the year starts :-)

Please don't hesitate to join. Look forward to seeing those of you with offers up in Port this year - it's gonna be a ripper!

Anyone else also having problems with enrolling into the courses for term 2 and 3, I was able to enrol into Foundations and Beginnings...A, but can’t seem to be able to enrol into MFAC 1524 and MFAC 1525, it says “Your search returned no results”

My email has different codes for Term 2 and 3 than those (1523 and 1526)

I'm pretty sure you can only enrol for the immediate semester.

Hey guys, I’ve got a UNSW Kensington Bonded offer with 99.95 and 92%ile no other factors local student. What are the chances that I get bumped to a CSP unbonded offer? Does it happen? Thanks

We have no idea how you did in the interview so your overall ranking is unknown. Why don't you try chucking UNSW a call on Monday and see if they're willing to give this information to you (overall ranking)?

Sounds good

Wait who should I call? Admissions or faculty of medicine

So I know that UNSW med has a different timetable system to other UNSW courses. For those courses, a lot of people have been rushing to enrol because spots in certain classes fill up. Is that that case with UNSW med? Or can I take a few more days before enrolling, and it won't affect my timetable (e.g. if I want certain lectures/tutes at certain times)?

With med, you can take your time enrolling in your 4 med courses for this year (and then your classes). This is because you don't get to choose your timetable (in First Year at least). You simply enrol in your classes, and the medical faculty will put you into one of four colleges and make your timetable for you. That timetable comes in early Feb according to the email they sent out.
