The January Round 2 is a UAC offer round.Hi, just curious, if the 2nd round interviews are from 22-23rd Jan and the 2nd round of offers is 23rd Jan, does that mean that those doing 2nd round interviews won’t get an offer before the 3rd round? In that case, who would get 2nd round offers?
Yep. I'm only 3120 UCAT though so wasn't expecting. The January Round 2 is a UAC offer round.
I noted UNSW Med includes it on its webpage but may not participate in.
I'm also curious, have any non-standard applicants got an interview invite today?
Oh wow! Has that been done before, where a uni doesn’t participate in an offer round? Apart from dec round 2 ofcThe January Round 2 is a UAC offer round.

I got an invite yesterday with a ucat of 3210. Makes me think that lots of non-standard applicants were not considered in first round interviews or their results had not been finalised with uac at that time??The January Round 2 is a UAC offer round.

The same as any other university - slim, but it does happen. It’s definitely not something to rely on / make decisions in the hope that it will happen, as it most likely won’t.Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know what the chances are of a UNSW BMP being upgraded. Currently deciding whether or not to make the financial move for Curtin.
Thanks!
I've only heard of it happening once in my time here at unsw. The same as any other university - slim, but it does happen. It’s definitely not something to rely on / make decisions in the hope that it will happen, as it most likely won’t.
UNSW use combined rank of ATAR/GPA, UCAT and interview to make selection rank. However, there is threshold for each items to receive an offer.Does anyone know, what is the UCAT cutoff for UNSW med to receive a place offer for NSW metro student?
I'm not entirely sure, but if someone receives an interview offer, it likely means they have met the UCAT threshold. This threshold varies depending on the admission scheme and is not publicly disclosed. However, there is speculation that the UCAT threshold for Sydney metro students is generally above the 92nd percentile.for med spot offer.
Before UNSW issued the 1st round place offers they would've known how many interviewees were to be invited to the 2nd round. My understanding is they would proportion the number of places accordingly, actually with some bias to the 2nd round to ensure its final-rank cutoff isn't higher than 1st round. With interstate interview offers being offered in the first round, and (from what I have read) almost all non-standard applicants having interviews in the second round, does anyone think that this will affect the amount of offers being given in the second round. My thinking is that many interstate applicants may not have been able to make their interview (due to short notice), as well as many non-standard applicants not receiving offers in the first round despite very high results (98%ile +). Do you think this could change the usual number of local spots or second round offers?
With that ATAR, I'd be looking at a UCAT percentile of >93.Helllooo, I'm a student from New Zealand and am taking a gap year.
My ATAR is 99.50, does anyone know what UCAT percentile I should be looking at as the arbitrary number to potentially get an interview offer from UNSW come 2026?
I understand that I'm also right on edge, so if you think my ATAR + any UCAT percentile won't cut it for UNSW, what are some unis I could consider with my ATAR, provided (hypothetically) I have a highly competitive UCAT score?
Thank you!
the atar cutoff for unsw for interview offer was 99.55 (most likely people with 99th percentile ucats) this year, so how much u can bump that up by wud determine the ucat u shud aim for. Ideally u shud be looking at around 97th+Helllooo, I'm a student from New Zealand and am taking a gap year.

JMP is a good option- ATAR is only considered as a hurdle (above 96._ from memory), so if u have a good ucat u wud automatically get an interview.Helllooo, I'm a student from New Zealand and am taking a gap year.

WSU used to be a good option as it is also only considers ATAR as a hurdle, however interstate formula cutoffs are extremely high [a 3500 w 830 VR didn't get an interview last year]
cud consider UQ- subject bonuses wud mean u most likely have 99.95, downside is that interstate ucat cutoff was high this year (3330 last year from memory).
Uadel is also an option- 99.5 might be competitive with a high ucat and a good interview, as there is no in-state/interstate bias. CQU have ucat cutoffs for their interview (3310 last year), ATAR i don't think is weighted too highly/ might have same subject bonuses as UQ?
if you can, I would resit some paper/standards if possibly to bump the atar up, as it would most definitely help your chances. Provided u get a very good UCAT you do have some options tho, possibly some more I haven't listed here
Hey Deboza! Guess what! somehow it got upgraded!! Very very pleased with a ton of anxiety reducedI've only heard of it happening once in my time here at unsw.
