JPM WSU/CSU JPM: Questions and Discussion

Hey guys, I was meant to receive my email for the MAQ on Friday so I called CSU school of rural medicine just now about it and I've been told that 'I no longer meet the academic cut off'. I am a non-school leaver who had finished my bachelors degree by the time I got my interview last year so I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?? I got straight 7's in my final semester so this doesn't make sense to me. It seems really unfair and unprofessional.. I was advised by CSU to call UAC and now they are undertaking an internal review about this decision but I won't hear back from UAC for 2 days and that is not enough time considering the interviews are this Thursday. Does anyone have any advice for what I should do? Feeling pretty heartbroken 😢

what that sucks :( i'm not too sure if it'll be much help, but there was another member in a similar situation to you - maybe have a read of this post and the few following it to see if it can help at all

JPM - WSU/CSU JPM: Questions and Discussion

1. I think if you stay at the GWS address in between your FIFO periods it should be fine to use its postcode. It'd be harsh of WSU to GWS-exclude you on that basis. 2. ATAR/GPA is almost certainly a hurdle. Weighting for offers is 75% interview 25% UCAT according to WSU accreditation report...

Hi all, I was wondering about the format of the CSU/WSU interview. I wanted to know about how many stations and how long it actually goes for. Does anyone have any insight?

Hi, for interstate applicants, I was wondering whether anybody has received an email from WSU about the date and time of out interviews. It was meant to come today so just wanted to double check that nobody else has received an email as well.

Assuming interstate is the same format as 2020 zoom interviews: At the beginning there is a 10-20 min waiting period to be let in, then each station is 8 minutes long with a total of 8 stations. You will be given 2 minutes or so at the beginning of each station to read the scenario / question and gather your thoughts. After the eight minutes is up a notification will come up saying you will be moved to a new room, and the interviewer usually promts you to finish up. You don’t need to touch anything in between rooms, you’ll be automatically moved. Don’t worry if you don’t start in room 1 - they can start you in any room. Once you’ve completed your final room, a notification comes up to tell you that is the end of the interview and that you may leave. The whole process takes about 1.5 hours. Water and a watch on the desk is allowed, anything else is not.

Hi team, just wondering if anyone can find information about the clinical placements for CSU in years 3, 4 and 5. Not sure what health districts/hospitals it has partnerships with.

Fairly certain you guys will be at Orange Base Hospital, some private hospitals in and around Orange and part of the Orange health service, and Bathurst Base Hospital. There may be a select few rotations in metropolitan hospitals, not sure.

I'm not sure if there will be any JPM/JMP top up offers. If there are we have heard of top ups even 1-2 weeks after semester has started (from a few who sit on their offers/enrolments until the school notices their absence).

Hi! I'm currently in my HSC year and hoping to apply for WSU med. I know that UNSW combines equal parts of the ATAR, UCAT, and interview but I've heard that WSU simply uses the ATAR to offer interviews and then doesn't take it into further consideration, is that right? as a GWS applicant if I was to get a 93.5 is it likely I would receive an offer? Thank you!

JPM does NOT look at ATAR to offer interviews. They look at UCAT using their wacky formula weighting Verbal Reasoning more than the other sections.
