It’s a bit hard to know.

Most medical schools aim have a rural cohort usually through a subcategory of ~30% due to government requirements (some like JCU aim much higher) but i believe WSU has an exception to this rule because they focus a lot GWS (an area with quite a bit of disadvantage to say the least)
 
Hi all, just wondering if any interstate applicants have received an offer or know when the interstate offers will be released? The email sent after the interviews mentioned February, but nothing specific. Thanks.

7:30 am Thursday (tomorrow) NSW time. Though really both offer and rejection emails come throughout the night.
 
Can anyone shed light on the structure of the Y3, Y4 and Y5 clinical placements. I understand that there is roughly 30 weeks, 35 weeks and then 35 weeks of clinical practice required, but is this in blocks (say 10-12 weeks at a time) or one block straight?

iMMO may be able to if they pop by.
 
I'm an interstate applicant and haven't received any correspondence from UAC yet. I called up UAC and was told it might be coming out on 11 th of Feb. They didn't seem to be 100% sure tho...

I just called the School of Rural Medicine at CSU, and they confirmed that successful interstate applicants received offers on the 4th of February. I suspect those who did not get offers just weren't notified by UAC.

Regarding the 11th of February, that's UAC's next offer round, so second-round February offers for NSW programs are coming out then. I'm pretty sure if any JPM offers are released then it will be a much smaller number than on the 4th.

I have no idea about the interstate quota etc. but to me that sounds off... what would be the point on interviewing tens (if not hundreds) of interstate applicants to only fill 5 remaining spots on the first round? Seems very strange. Perhaps try CSU Admissions and see what they have to say about it?

Yeah exactly. If this is true then this means that interstate applicants only had the chance for "leftover" spots...doesn't sound very fair to me. Anyways, CSU admissions said no competitive offers have been sent at this stage so to wait for the 11th Feb offer round. Again, a different answer to what they told "Roman" in his post above (I don't know how to tag ppl on here sorry😅). I guess we'll find out on the 11th🤷‍♀️

If you guys are talking about CSU only, they only have 30ish spots for med so maybe 5 offers for interstaters isnt too surprising?
