JPM WSU/CSU JPM: UCAT Section Weighting Discussion and Questions

i received an interview invite last year with a score of 2420, ra2 rural applicant. this year my score is higher but no invite. the only difference is that I preferenced wsu last year and csu this year. could there be any link b/w this?

Guys I'm so sorry, I screwed up big time. In my phone notes I originally wrote my VR score as 530 and that's why I thought it was that. I was hella confused so I logged into my Pearson account to double check my scores and my VR is actually 630 not 530. Apologies for screwing you around.

The lowest GWS invite atm is 724.4, but bear in mind this formula we use is only an approximation. It can vary a little due to (1) formula error margin, (2) different range of VR scores this year (I've seen 850-870 vs mid 700s last year), and (3) WSU may have changed the weightings.

You can try compare each of your section score versus the 724.4 invite, see if we can detect any reason.

Theirs VR: 680 DM: 680 QR: 870 AR: 800 Total: 3030 SJ: 535
Mine VR: 700 DM: 740 QR: 780 AR: 800 Total: 3020 SJ: 599

Only section I scored lower was QR, maybe that's weighted higher this year?

My guess is last year high VRs were mid 700s, this year mid 800s, so JPM has weighted VR less heavily this year. Which means your +20pts VR advantage doesn't compensate as much for the -30pts DM/QR deficit.

But keep your fingers crossed you should be very close to getting a top-up.

Just confirming that you applied as a GWS applicant, as it would seem you should have received an invite under this pathway.

Yeah, it is starting to look like that, just wanted to confirm the GWS wasn't a copy/paste remnant as that has caused some confusion in the past :)

ETA: I'm in the middle of exam study (first exam tomorrow!) so reeeeeally shouldn't be engaging in this, but...(!!) do we have anything to suggest 500 is across all entrance pathways?

All good, no screenshot needed. The running theory is unfortunately SJ has been used as a hurdle requirement, possibly set at 500. We don't have quite enough data to conclude this with certainty yet so if there are others out there who've missed out on invites (any entry pathway), it would be useful to know what your scores were.

I have my results posted in the 2022 Interview Invites thread and I've labelled it clearly that I didn't receive an invite. It seems like there is a SJT minimum and it's around the 500 mark because I saw some people with lower MSO formula score than me but in the mid 500s SJT getting an interview invite. Thankfully I should still be getting a JMP interview but it's just disheartening as WSU was close by me.
 
Has any rural vic students gotten an offer interview invite?

Lowest we've had reported for rural were
CSU: 602
WSU: 654.6
So unless there's been a change to the formula (entirely possible), it would seem you should have received an invite (it's not state based).

Are they not doing it by states this year? Last year I got one on the 14/12

What was lowest reported for GWS?
 
Has anyone got WSU interview offers yet? Will interstate offers come out around the same time?
I got 3010 for my UCAT, so are the interviews purely based on UCAT, or would they consider ATAR at some stage?
