JPM WSU/CSU JPM: UCAT Section Weighting Discussion and Questions

The lowest GWS invite atm is 724.4, but bear in mind this formula we use is only an approximation. It can vary a little due to (1) formula error margin, (2) different range of VR scores this year (I've seen 850-870 vs mid 700s last year), and (3) WSU may have changed the weightings.

You can try compare each of your section score versus the 724.4 invite, see if we can detect any reason.

my friend had the exact same vr and qr scores as me but
my dm: 770, ar: 770, sj: 595
her dm: 880, ar: 670, sj: 630
maybe dm is worth more than ar this year??

Comparing your scores against a WSU invite

630 690 700 680 - 2700 - 619 SJT - current formula 654.6 - Yes
600 680 780 830 - 2890 - 619 SJT - current formula 672.6 - No invite

Even assuming the current MSO formula is totally wrong, WSU would need to *increase* VR's weighting to like
80%VR + 5%DM + 5%QR + 10%AR
for that set of score to beat yours. But applying this formula to the other applicants the ranking will be all wrong.

I'd say there's a problem with your rural status. Has it been verified/approved?

See... my prediction you'd get a top-up was spot on :cool:

Naahh, WSU wouldn't have received any declines yet, was just a hiccup in their system. They also need $10 extra each from us to upgrade their maths calculator.

yea its such a joke, i dont think people get verified for rural status for WSU/CSU, but i definitely had the rural evidence form attached. One of my friends got an email saying her rural evidence needed to be changed and i never got an email like that so i assume that it was approved.

If you are unsuccessful, but feel your data would be useful, you can also post in the linked thread but please make it clear you did not receive an invite.

If you later go on to receive a top up invite or an invite that happened to roll out a day or so later, please make that clear, too.

quick question did u email ur rural forms as well as uploading to uac or just uploaded to uac?
 
Running commentary on WSU formula anomalies

540 630 610 620 - 2400 - 502 SJT - 573.0 formula - RA3 NSW - Yes (Randomgiraffe)
670 590 740 720 - 2720 - 561 SJT - 677.8 formula - RA2 QLD - No invite (KM2021)

To be higher Giraffe's +40pts DM needs to outweight -360pts in the other three sections i.e. DM is weighted 9 times VR + 9 times QR + 9 times AR. Impossible since this would mess up all the other invites' ranking.

So either WSU has not recognised KM2021's RA2 or for some reason QLD invites have not been sent.

EtA: Same situation as flynnscrivo72 RA2 QLD no invite.

In fact, same situation as jampa123 RA3 VIC, and several other non-NSW rurals.

Conclusion: UAC has forgotten to send out rural interstate invites, or JPM is doing a later interview round for them, or calamity... JPM is reserving rural for NSW rurals only!!

RA2 VIC here - 610 660 740 800 - 2810 - 624 SJT - 665 formula no invite aswell
