Hi! So I am really wanting to do med, however if I am not able to get in, dentistry will be my second option.
For QTAC, as all my preferences currently are med, if I get no first round offers for med, am I able to add UQ dentistry and then look to getting a second round offer? Or is there some sort of deadline for UQ dent that stops me from doing this?
I tried to look online but couldn't find any infoThanks for your help!
I saw it in this post, maybe BWP can give us more infoHi A1, that would be ideal - where did this information come from? I can't find it on the UNSW website. Thx so much!
Hi BWP, this would be great - could you please clarify where you got this info from? I can't find it on the UNSW website. Thx so much!I've heard from UNSW medfac that their current plans are actually to release offers in the early Feb round
See this post > Admissions Centres Preferencing: General DiscussionHello!
Sorry if this has been asked before, but was wanting to confirm USC, Nathan and Gold Coast med (Griffiths), can all be added into preferences up to December?? I am planning on initially putting UQ Med BMP/CSP in my 6 preferences then depending on if I get an interview offer, I will remove them and add USC/Nathan. What do you think?
Appreciate the advice!
Thank you for your quick reply, can I use the same strategy for UQ/Dent. ( add it into my preferences at later stage) Thank youSee this post > Admissions Centres Preferencing: General Discussion
Technically you can add USC/Nathan/GC up to late December but Griffith advises to get them in before 10 December. Should work for you since you will know about UQ interview invite by then.
You need to check the closing date for UQ Dent. I know several med/dent schools don't allow you to *add* them to your pref list after the TAC closing date 30-Sept. (You can swap prefs around but not add after the date)Thank you for your quick reply, can I use the same strategy for UQ/Dent. ( add it into my preferences at later stage) Thank you
say if i dont get an interview offer from cqu on the 18th october, am i allowed to change my preferences to something like griffith dental since they release interview offers at the end of october, or will this not work>You need to check the closing date for UQ Dent. You sure can! Assuming that’s when interview invites come out, it’s well before the recommended GU cut off date of 10th Dec, so that’s a sensible option.so for ins

ALERT ALERT ... it looks like not possible for Griffith Dentsay if i dont get an interview offer from cqu on the 18th october, am i allowed to change my preferences to something like griffith dental
Haha yep no probs - this is unofficial ofc but I'm a UNSW student and I've heard that the faculty's current plans are to release their offers on 10 Feb (aka Feb Round 2)Hi BWP, this would be great - could you please clarify where you got this info from? I can't find it on the UNSW website. Thx so much!
Well first of all, they are from completely different universities so that is a pretty big difference. The 2nd difference is the location, the criteria is different but that doesn't necessarily imply Griffith is easier as Griffith doesn't require UCAT or interviews but has a very high ATAR requirement. I suggest you do more research on both courses websites to learn furtherDoes anyone explain that CQU Bundy and Rocky medicine program are the same as Griffith (Nathan) program or not? What's the difference? I check the CQU Bundy, it requires UCAT and interview which is stricter than Griffith?

Thx BWP. That would be great. I hope they follow through with that - as A1 said, 2 offer rounds will allow students the option to pick between unbonded/bonded places (if lucky enough to get multiple offers)...Haha yep no probs - this is unofficial ofc but I'm a UNSW student and I've heard that the faculty's current plans are to release their offers on 10 Feb (aka Feb Round 2)
If there is no implied cut-off on the website that should be the caseThank you! I just want to double check the UQ dentistry closing date. I can't seem to find it. On QTAC's website, this is what they say:

Does that meant there isn't a closing date for UQ dent? So if its not in my preferences right now, I can add it after January (to be considered for 2nd round?)
Thanks!
based on your atar, you will get an offer from Griffith (no interview), and the location being in the city does appeal whether in sunshine/nathan (brisbane) or goldcoast, so id apply to the griffith campuses if I was youDoes anyone explain that CQU Bundy and Rocky medicine program are the same as Griffith (Nathan) program or not?
