Arrrrrgh! I feel like I said goodbye to my med dreams!!!! Nothing like any of the past papers???? Well not the high point value ones anyway.
I saw a few people burst into tears post test. Anyone else find it a tad ... shall we say difficult?

Yeah, just a bit... :p

But seriously, I completely agree^

No wonder they scaled it down to 85+ for the A+ grade boundaries!!!

Well last year I can remember we had a spectroscopy question worth 17 to 20 marks. So it's nothing overly special. I can understand you guys sat a hard paper so did us. You probably heard from others who have done this paper before that this was going to be a very hard test so hopefully you guys all "coped" well.

I thought this time they really made it tricky...I did run out of time for the spectroscopy one and realised the structure AFTER the test. Damn. -_-
By the way, @Tupac4life , this year's one was worth 14 marks!!!

True. We did hear it from practically everyone who told us about the second test.

Oh, by the way, I meant that the last part of the spectroscopy question was worth 14 marks, which is similar to the 13 mark question you guys had last year.

Favour (and everyone else as a reminder), discussion of UMAT preparation courses is not permitted on MSO for legal reasons.

Thanks.

I know this is off topic but greenglacier could you tell me why it is not legally permitted to discuss UMAT prep courses? Is it because of ACER's stand point on UMAT preparation courses?

I believe there was an issue in the past with a predecessor board (AussieMedStudents?) getting sued by a prep company. So we play it safe and don't talk about them.

I see because when I look at pagingdr they talk about GAMSAT prep companies all the time on the forums but not on MSO so I was curious.

I believe PD has been in trouble with ACER recently (I'm not sure what over). And MSO has not, so... [/offtopic]

Why does waiting for results to come out always seem longer when you are told the day? (Yet...they're...still not out.)

Yup, 4everAlone , it is! :D

But the problem is, I don't have FB. So... ^_^

(Is it really hectic over there? :p)

Yeah its pretty funny. Way too many people in your year are either super gullible or big pisstakers haha

P.s out now so goodluck!

Haha, gosh, I was thinking of making an account but even MSO seems to take up a lot of time! :p

Not that I mind ;)

P.S. Yeah, thanks! (Clicking on that button seems extremely hard to do now.)

This dates to before I joined MSO, but my understanding is that MSO used to allow such discussion and was threatened with legal action by a company offering prep courses over some stuff that was said on the forum. It's a lot safer/easier to put a blanket ban in place (acknowledging that many may view this as unsatisfactory).

WRT to PagingDr, their current legal issue is with ACER (not any prep company), after a complaint regarding GAMSAT test questions being shared on the forum. However, this does nicely demonstrate that legal threats relating to UMAT discussion do happen (and can be serious).

Hah population health, 29% got 29 or 30 out of 30, no point celebrating though, funtimes ahead for chem marks tomorrow! (or sometime soonish anyway)

Hey Sophi , congratulations! :D

*high five*

Anyways, what makes you think it will be tomorrow for chem marks? (So soon...)

Not really 100% sure haha, just assumed they would be soon as they usually only take 3-4 days and there is no public holidays this time, further away the better though haha

Yeah, I have to agree; the further away the better ^_^

Wonder why they're so quick at marking the chem scripts as opposed to the biosci ones? (Now those took quite a while haha.)

By the way, I was surprised at the graph this time! So much better in terms of mark distribution! How do you think the exam for poplhlth will be?

That's great! Our test was out of 40 last year I'm surprised it's only 30 questions this year?! Hopefully you'll do well in the exams and get that A+ you deserve.*
