Wasn't she resigning from the role and someone new had taken her place?

But anyways, I sent mine via post (seems rather archaic these days) a while back as my scanner has kicked the bucket and I'm not a big fax man. No confirmation that it has been processed as of yet but I did receive a reminder email this morning.

ah you're right midnight, i meant amanda smith. It says 'marticulation' on nDeva, but i didnt take that as confirmation.

Huh, anyway, i (and i guess you guys too) got a letter from the faculty of science about study options for year 2, guess i'm still enrolled in BSc

No confirmation e-mail here either. I think it should be OK though as long as you've accepted the offer on nDeva and you're enrolled.

I'm guessing that the second half of the reply slip (i.e. declining all other offers) is the most important, especially with graduates who may have applied everywhere. Maybe they don't want to be mucked around by last-minute withdrawals.

EDIT: I also CC'd my e-mail to [email protected], just in case.

I havn't yet declined the other offers, just in case something goes horribly wrong, Thats why i was waiting for confirmation... and i didnt get a reminder either

Well, seeing how nearly 130 students already enrolled in our classes i decided to join in. I didnt find any lab components on ndeva tho

g.walker: How does one check the number of students enrolled? I remember I used to know how to do this, but I have no idea any more. I'm sure nothing will go horribly wrong - for my sake anyway, since I was so quick to decline everything else haha.

Hi guys i'm doing biomed at auck this year and was wandering how important my umat is because i'm not so great at it, if i don't do so well is there still a chance of entry???

lambchops: goto class search, type in a second year paper, click on the details and it'll tell you how many people have enrolled in that paper

amadman1: hardly important, grades and interview are very essential. UMAT is more of a pre-requisite

Despite having everyone tell me that we are automatically enrolled in our papers, i just figured if more than half the class already did it themselves, no harm i joining in

at this time I would like to point out there is an MSO wiki on Auckland available if you look at the top panel. The wiki is a bit outdated but I'll update some of it soon

just wondering

have any of you got any experience with regard to the BHSc 1st year papers (i.e. POPLHLTH101, 102 etc., those outside the 4 common papers) and what they're like?

or are you all biomed'ers :P

theres this person who keeps asking me about them because she's bad at physics apparently and has never taken it at high school so doesn't want to do biomed because of PHYSICS160

I kept telling her it doesn't matter that much but still doesn't seem that convinced... :|
fair enough from her part though if she feels uncomfortable

A mate of mine found the 4 POPLHLTH papers really enjoyable. As a result, she got better grades for those than the 4 core papers. She did find them quite time-consuming though and wouldn't recommend it to someone who wasn't confident with essay-writing.

dogtown - the BHSc papers (that aren't core for everyone) are social science papers, which means if you are good at assimilating lots of reading & summing up the ideas there as well as adding your own you'll do really well. There's no right or wrong, however 1st year is pretty prescriptive - meaning the lecturers are pretty specific about what they want to see. The subject matter is really interesting and it's a great degree to be in if you miss out on med after the first year - it's also great info to know if you plan on going into clinical practice.

Also, what prerequisite maths skills did you need? And which sub-categories (i.e. statistics, mechanics, calculus etc.) were used the most?
