lol from what i heard when i was speaking to the med students before my interview, it lasts for i think 2 days (?) and it's going to be on motutapu island this year. and i also heard a funny story about a prank where this guy's mattress was pulled out onto the lawn and he never realised until he woke up...hopefully i won't embarass myself as horribly as i have in past camps...cue memories of kayaks, and repeated slams into many rocky surfaces..shudder. that being said, i have no idea what happens at the camp.
there is still a chance with the waitlist though
Does anyone know how many people get waitlisted at Auckland? And around how many out of that actually get in?
I'm lost for words......
Application for B Medicine & Surgery: APPROVED
I'm going to be a doctor. (if i pass the course)
lol its on motutapu. I had something similar done to me. I was tired that night and basically turned out the lights to sleep. Then some dorkheads hauled my sleeping bag with me in it and dumped me out onto the porch (not the lawn unless this was ANOTHER story). Needless to say I wasn't too happy. I know who it was and I wish that person had some decency to find a way to have fun without it being the expense of someone else. I suppose I woke up as soon as I was hauled up, better than waking up on the lawn
It seems funny on the outside. But it wasn't very funny for me, that ruined the first night of freshers for me. I wish some of the people in my class could be a bit better than drinking baboons.
Either way its 3 days on motutapu, more information in the letters sent out
lol omg it must be you because the person i talked to got in last year as well. i am so sorry. although i must say, that's somewhat preferable to what happened to me at the last camp i went to..hint:it included paranoia about missing/disappearing knives, sleep-talking, and certain remarks which were so so badly timed, they were perfect. Anyhow. When do the waitlisted people get to know? and i must be at a huge disadvantage because i don't drink.
you are in my class aren't you Aesir lol
I can name 3 in our class that got in on the waitlist. Maybe there are more?
i must be at a huge disadvantage because i don't drink.

haha camp sounds crakkk lol....... man but motutapu again :S:S:S !
been ther like 3 times alredy lol........but hopefully ths one wont have any planned activities and we jus get to chill out!
Yeah well I'd love to know where I am on the waitlist - I guess top 5 would be a good place. I hope they don't let me know too late, as I have to decide on Otago soon.
True true. My main prob I have with waiting so long is not accepting the Otago offer, but sorting out where I will be living next year!! Oh well, I'm just happy to be in somewhere![]()
Thanks for the words of congratulations guys.
I've been yearning for med for 2 years now, and i see this as the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life. I would like to thankyou everyone who has been on MSO for the last couple of years, this site truly is an amazing resource to have for keen medical students. Futhermore, the support and good advice that everyone provides is an essential key to this i think and is something that i also greatly admire about this site.
I can honestly say that i'm looking forward to being a more active member, even though i have been here for so long, i never really got as involved as i would have liked (eg: my low post count), purely for the reason that i felt somewhat detached from other members due to not being in med. Med II here we come!
Wishing everyone here a merry christmas, safe new year and all the best for the applicants for 2008!
