wow thanks for that, looking for this stuff on youtube the other day. Couldn't find much.
@hamlock. thanks for the link, didn't know this site existed.

Hey guys. I found this amazing embryology animation website: https://www.indiana.edu/~anat550/embryo_main. Wouldve been very helpful to have last year, folding made no sense. Anyway hope it makes your embryology lectures that much easier :D

@g.walker: folding...ahah. did you happen to understand how the mesentry became the omentum or whatever ? haha.

Yea I did actually, its sorta hard to type out; did you check this out? (https://www.indiana.edu/~anat550/gianim/sdo/sdo.html) shows you how it's made. From what I understood, the dorsal mesogastrium (between developing stomach and dorsal aorta) increases in surface area such that it sloughs inferiorly forming a double membrane, which is the G. Omentum. offtopic is from textbook

C, Later stage after coalescence of the clefts to form the omental bursa. D, Transverse section showing the initial appearance of the omental bursa. E, The dorsal mesentery has elongated and the omental bursa has enlarged. F and G, Transverse and sagittal sections, respectively, showing elongation of the dorsal mesogastrium and expansion of the omental bursa. H, At 6 weeks, showing the greater omentum and expansion of the omental bursa. I and J, Transverse and sagittal sections, respectively, showing the inferior recess of the omental bursa and the omental foramen. The arrows in E, F, and I indicate the site of the omental foramen. In J, the arrow indicates the inferior recess of the omental bursa.[/offtopic]

One of my non-rural friends/classmates got 38%ile in UMAT and he is in med (I know its hard to believe ) So 80%ile should be plenty. Just don't screw up the interview or your GPA and you will be fine. I don't know what GPA you need for ROMPE though sorry.

Hi guys. Im a nonrural candidate and I got a UMAT percentile of 71% last year, and I am considering whether to do UMAT again this year. They now take your most recent score, not your best score, so there is a risk. What do you guys think I should do? Any advice?

Cheers

I personally think you should do it again. 71% is like 54 overall score which equates to a GPA of 1. This is the lowest you can get. If you try again there is a possibility you can improve and I think it is a risk worth taking.

I'm not sure about this, but I've heard that they now use your best score instead of your most recent score.

Anyway, its best if you aim for GPA9, not GPA8 lol.

Refer to the UMAT information booklet (available on the UMAT website).

If you do UMAT two years in a row, then your BEST score counts (not your most recent). Thus there is nothing to be lost in sitting UMAT for a second time (except for the $200 registration fee).

I reckon that you may as well sit UMAT again, just because any increase in your score that may result will increase your chances of admission (I got 96th percentile in year 13 and still sat it again the year later - got 99th percentile, so even though my initial mark was high, I still increased my chances of entry by sitting again).

did you guys see what happened this afternoon with the 107 results. They took ages to come out, and when they did they stuffed up marking the mcq. people like me got marks 10 and 15 out of 50. I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw them out. thank god they agreed that there was a mistake on their half. PHEW!!!
