CSU CSU Dentistry: Q&A and General Discussion

also with interviews.. last year CSU sent offers out within the first few weeks of November :)

Hello Hutcheson and Miss Universe
I was wondering if you hadn't filled out the "Work Experience" and "Community Service/work" section, does this significantly lower your chance of getting an interview offer?

Kind regards

yes it does

Hello all ^_^ I received an offer to study at CSU and I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to apply for on-campus accommodation. I cannot seem to apply on the Accommodation Portal. Am I doing something wrong? (I don't even know if I have enrolled properly u-u)

Thank you in advance!

(Good luck to those awaiting offers!)

I called student central and they walked me through the enrollment (have you're CSU ID Number from the email on hand) :] Still haven't applied for accommodation yet so not sure about that.

Hi Reighn, I feel silly for asking this (but also relieved to see a fellow classmate), but where do you find your CSU ID number? I have an account with the Student Portal if that helps.

There are 3 numbers at the bottom of the Confirmation of Offer Acceptance email from the CSU Admissions Office. The first number is your ID (8 digits). Good luck with the enrollment and see you next year!

PS: Apparently you need 10 posts on MSO to private message :/

Aw that's a pity :(
I was going to get a job after all my exams - which is now
but then the application is already sent.
Still, fingers crossed!
Thanks for your response!

Hey guys ! I'll be attending CSU next year fo dental science(yay!). Just wondering, is there a facebook page for CSU dental students ?

Wow congratulations!!!
How soon do they inform you after your interview that you got accepted into the course?

Kind regards :)

Oooh gotcha ! Have saved my ID number to my phone contacts. Thanks! ^_^

Congrats to everyone who got in for 2015
i have a question and wondering someone can help
i am finally at a point in my life where I can apply and after seeing my beautiful best mate graduate this year from CSU dentistry I am considering applying next year however there was all these comments earlier posts that you have to answer questions that the dean reads.looking through the supplementary form for this years application I cannot see any questions other than why you want to be a dentist in 25 words or less.seems a bit crammed when I read some peoples essay questions were over 1000
my question is, are these questions that go to the dean emailed privately or released separately??
so excited to finally be at a stage to apply next year I'm giving myself 3 attempts :)

Hey Parkesygrl, just to clear up some confusion, there used to be an 'essay-type' of question where we had one full page to write our response. As of 2014 applications (for 2015) as far as I am aware, they switched to a 25 words or less type of application (and added question regarding community work). Hope I'm not providing you with misleading information (someone please feel free to correct me).

Good luck with your application. I wish you the best success ^_^

That's what I thought it had possible been changed
seems almost impossible now to shine in 25 words or less

hey Parkesygrl the section for work experience and community involvement is separate to the 25 word statement on why you want to be a dentist. but i assume those sections will have their own individual word limits.

Hi,
First of all, thank you Hutch for the thread! Provided me with the necessary information and I received an offer for Dentistry at CSU for 2015 intake!

Just a query for whoever can answer: I finished grade 12 in 2013 and took a gap year. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on things I could brush up on prior to starting the course following my gap year. I want to minimise, as much I can, the 'rustiness' with study that people mention happens after a gap year. I am considering enrolling with Study Link at CSU and doing some Chem, Bioscience and Anatomy and some other courses like Transition to University. But simultaneously I want to begin the course with a clear head and avoid unnecessary pressure/stress.

Did you feel like prior knowledge from grade 12 or your undergrad course was essential for you, especially in first year? If so, I might proceed with Study Link and/or review my grade 12 notebooks/textbooks as well. Would you recommend doing some studying or do you feel like you get all the info you need from your lectures in the course?

Any inputs/suggestions/advice would be appreciated! @Omm @iBoLt @mighty @Hutcherson

Thanks.
