CSU CSU Dentistry: Q&A and General Discussion

If applicants can be “thrown off” this easily by a rejection email, how will they cope with stressful situations when practising dentistry? I thought one of the characteristics they look for in applicants is their ability to manage and handle stress?
To be fair, it is definitely not a nice feeling to have two exams the next day while staring at three rejection emails that came through all at once. Speaking from experience, it does have an impact on your optimism and motivation. Feeling disappointed is nothing to be ashamed of.

I think whilst I understand your intention I think this type of uncertainty due to CSU having very poor communication in particular this year is what has added such stress to applicants which is understandable . I can understand their sentiment considering how much effort they have placed in preparing for the UCAT, ATAR/GPA to then have to deal with an extremely poor admission process by CSU, missing out an interview could mean another year having to repeat the process if unsuccessful at other universities as well

Just to clarify, my previous comment was not directed at the applicants. I was just doubting that worrying about the applicants' mental well-being played an important role in minds of the admissions team.

UWA is known to wait until WACE exams are over before releasing invites. They'd rather students spend their time studying for WACE than sitting hitting the email refresh key :D

That's interesting that they are waiting until after the HSC exams finish to send out interview invites this year because they haven't waited for the last 3 years to send them out. It has always been around end of Oct and early Nov while the HSC exams are still going on.

That’s very kind of them. But I’m still skeptical that it is the reason why CSU did what they did.

I guess them releasing it after HSC has nothing to do with the situation with non-standards? ( a lot of high UCAT scores getting rejected)

adding on that.. would anyone know the best way for CSU to respond? I have called and emailed countless times.. but they really suck at responding.

Oh my god that is so baddddd. I still haven't gotten anything yet from them (neither invitation or rejection), but thats horrible. How they mess up that badly lmao.

Ok so someone reported today they got an interview offer with 86 percentile and no rural or bonuses.
I had mine retracted with 92nd percentile.
They have apparently contacted CSU and they confirmed it was correct that they got an offer.
soooooo confused!!! 😪😪😪
