Dentistry Entry Discussion and Questions

Just a hypothetical question, if you don't pass a year (pulling your GPA below 4) does that mean you fail out of the course? Or is it more like once you pass a year you're allowed to move on even if your GPA dips below 4.
"A student who fails to pass 2 years of enrolment within a 3 year period will be refused further enrolment in the program."

Some universities may scale the entire cohort up or allow those students to sit supplementary exams.

Hey Unluckydude, I'm late to the party, but I see you got into Latrobe's dentistry program via internal transfer. Do you think I could pm you some questions? 🥺

Hi Jim,

Thank you soooo much for your reply!!! I really appreciated it! Interms of CSU, I actually received a rejection email :( the email stated that I have a great application but due to the "competitive nature of the program" I was not accepted. For JCU however, I really think the program is full by now as this year they're doing rolling admissions meaning that the earlier you apply, the higher your chances are. For UQ, I know they have multiple offer rounds (around 3 rounds) but so far, I did not receive any email about them being full so I have some hope. My ultimate goal is actually Griffith so if I have the highest chance to get accepted there then I have nothing to complain about!!!

Did apply for the 2021 intake or have you already started dental school? and if you don't mind me asking, are you a Canadian student as well?
Hey. I sent you a pm! Think it would be easier to chat on there

Hey guys, for my QTAC application, my Griffith preference says that I haven't satisfied the entrey requirements, but when I click on the 'more info' it says I have satisfied the relevant requirements.
Could this be because I haven't yet complete 1FTE?

It could, but also note the "entry requirements" refer to the GPA cutoff too, and this won't be determined until quite close to the offers date in mid January. So, don't expect that message to change for a long time! Nothing to worry about currently.

Mine says the same thing even though I have completed the full study, apparently, it won't change until you get an offer so don't panic too much! I'm applying for Griffith too

Hi all, for my UAdel Bachelor of Dental Surgery application on SATAC, it is showing me as 'Not currently eligible for consideration'. Is this showing up the same for everyone or have I messed up my application somehow. Thanks in advance :)

Someone has it the other way around here > Admissions Centres Questions and Discussion

Leave it for couple of weeks see if it will change, if not you should follow up by mid October.

Has been discussed many times already this year! It’s very early days, don’t worry about it for the time being. You can panic in a couple of months time but they likely are yet to process your SATAC application yet.

do UQ non-standard applicants also have to meet the high school subject prerequisites? eg english & chemistry

Usually non-standard applicants are subject to the same requirements as their school leaver counterparts but may meet the requirements in a different way; tertiary chemistry unit vs high school chemistry, for example. I’d imagine this would hold true for UQ Dent, but Cal can confirm.
