[Undergrad] EAS/SCATS/UES/SEAS General Discussion and Enquiries

Hey, is it just me or when you log in to your application, and click on the University equity scheme, it only allows you apply for financial disadvantage, and no other disadvantage whatsoever (like difficult cirumstances or disadvantaged school etc.) Can anyone tell me why this is? for the other TAC's, I can openly apply for all sorts of disadvantages, but SATAC just won't let me.

It's explained here > Adjustment factors - Resources for students

UES has just two sub-categories - school-based for disadvantaged schools which you don't need to apply for, and financial disadvantage.

Oof okay, looks like I won't bother for QTAC then
UQ accepts EAS for their undergrad provisional MD entry. Please see below, it's from their website;

Admission schemes can improve your chances of getting into the Doctor of Medicine.
You may be eligible for our admission schemes based on:
  • where you live
  • your background and personal circumstances
  • the subjects you studied at school.
Many of our admission schemes use 'adjustments' to boost your selection rank or GAMSAT score.
You can receive a maximum of 5 adjustments across all schemes. If you already have an ATAR or selection rank of 99.00 or above, adjustments won't boost your rank.
Select an entry pathway to view the relevant admission schemes:

If you already have an ATAR or selection rank of 99.00 or above, adjustments won't boost your rank.

If this statement is correct to the exact wording it means the ATAR UQ use for 25% of the final ranking will be in Selection rank steps of 1.0.

Otherwise a 97.5 plus 2 adjustment points would be 99.5 vs a 99.1 plus 2 adjustment points remains 99.1.

Does anyone know how many places are offered each year to E-12 for USYD? Is it a set amount or it depends on the number of people that apply every year?

im pretty sure its around 30 people
30 is for all USYD provisional entry places, not for E12 applicants only.

terryz - I don't think there is a set quota for E12 applicants - once they reach the interview stage I believe they're in the same applicant pool as the non-E12 applicants and the chances of offer are roughly 2/3 for all interviewees.

Helmut can correct me if I'm wrong though.

Hi, this year I am eligible for school based equity through SATAC, providing me with 5 aggregate bonus points.

From my understanding, Adelaide University acknowledges these points but I was wondering if they use them differently? That is, say my raw ATAR is a flat 99, and my boosted ATAR is 99.95, will the university use my bonus point results, or use my raw ATAR and only consider UES as a tie-breaker?

Thanks in advance!

They'll treat your ATAR as if it was 99.95, it'll help massively for Flinders but also for Adelaide.

Hello,

I'm just wondering when we will know whether our application for EAS,SEAS,UES... has been accepted? So far I have only heard back from QTAC and I know EAS eligibility for UNSW will be released in mid Dec but what about other states? Do we ever get to know? Because for my SATAC one it just said for the status 'assessed', so does that mean I qualify or not??

Thank you! :D

Hey
I was just wondering if anyone knows how many SCATS points for UNSW I will get for my year 12 atar for looking after a really unwell family member during this period of time(have all the documents etc).
Thanks :)

No one can predict that for you... It all depends on how severe they assess the situation and its severity.

Does UQ use EAS for medicine. Because I originally gave evidence for it, but they want two other pieces of evidence which I now have. Is there any reason to fill it out, or can I just not give anything in. Furthermore, is there any problems with not finishing the application, or do I have to finish it otherwise a problem arises ( I’m a rural applicant who gave all information needed for the Rural Access Scheme)

I called up UQ for medicine/dentistry and they said they do NOT use EAS. They do use subject bonuses however to help you get that rank 99 equivalent.
