[Undergrad] EAS/SCATS/UES/SEAS General Discussion and Enquiries

I called up UQ for medicine/dentistry and they said they do NOT use EAS. They do use subject bonuses however to help you get that rank 99 equivalent.
Should I call QTAC to cancel my EAS or is it fine if I just don’t give the rest of the forms needed

I have outstanding documents and I'm not doing it, so I don't think it would really matter, since they dont use it anyway.

Hello
Does anyone know how much EAS is given if I applied for F01B: Receiving other Centrelink means-tested benefits and F01D: Receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A (Finacial Disadvantage Category) for UNSW Medicine? Apparently, it is being used this year according to some of the interview data. Will a 99 atar go to 99.95 or will a lower atar get to 99.95 or a higher atar?

Does anyone know how SEAS impacts ones ATAR? Specifically, is a SEAS boosted ATAR of a 99.5 equivalent to someone who doesn’t have SEAS but scored 99.5 as well?

Yes, monash uses selection rank so the boosted 99.50 is seen as the same as someone's raw 99.50 without SEAS.

Do you get an email that says your SEAS application has been accepted from VTAC? It says they let the unis know- will we ever find out? thx

yeh - thanks- but how come some of the vic med interviews they say EAS- how do they know?
I’m pretty sure it’s a guess to see if you fit in the categories for SEAS or not. Alternatively you can use the SEAS calculator. You could also call them up to check, one of my friends actually got told he was getting SEAS.

For scats and unsw, can it boost gpa to an atar equivalent of above 99.5 or can it instead only boost gpa to 7, which is equivalent to a 99.5?

Did she call Monash or VTAC?

I have been scrolling through this forum & I must have missed this. My question is that if a rural applicant (HSC school leaver) applies to UNSW, had the interview & met the minimum ATAR requirements for the rural pool, how would having an EAS help in the calculations?
And in terms of offers, especially when I gather there would be applicants who might receive more than one offer (not me, I'm dreaming) will there be another round?
Do med schools then contact applicants directly?

I believe EAS boosts ATAR which is ?1/3 of the offer equation. There are multiple rounds, yes, and once the official rounds are over, then some unis will do phone call offers one by one right up to O week to fill declined places (though these are rare and not to be relied upon for planning your year ie. don’t decline back ups on the belief you’ll get a phone call last minute).

Hi I applied for medical condition/disability, does anyone know how they determine if your low/medium/high? I got an interview for monash with 98.5 and 86% UCAT so does that mean my SEAS was accepted? my condition is considered long term and on going...

Hi. If I had EAS in yr 12 and do another degree (psychology at unsw) with hopes to transfer to medicine in 2022, would my EAS not be considered when I apply this year?

Nope. You'd have to apply for SCATS if eligible. EAS is for school leavers.

(Also, psychology 😍 )

Could anyone who have applied for SCATS UNSW be able to relay some of their experiences with the application process. I believe a personal statement is required. I'm wondering especially if this personal statement needs to be verified and who can do so. Is it like a statuary declaration? I have read about SCATS on their website & it says that documentation is required, that's alright but let's say your studies has been impacted by floods, do you need to scan a media release reporting the flooding in your area. How do one get that kind of evidence? Or if this isn't needed as it is widely known.

What system does SEAS use to determine if your location is low-socioeconomic area? and also on the website it says that they also take into consideration how far your home is from the school? How do they make adjust points based on distance from school? Is this info even released to applicants?
