Please stop writing the same message about if anyone has received an offer. I am willing to put my house on saying that within a minute of offers, there will be a post on here saying that offers are out.

you are not doing any good by repeating “are there offers out yet”. No one here is an Adelaide med staff member so no one can tell you exactly when the offers are going to come out.

the reason I’m writing this is because I have an Australia post parcel coming & every time someone asks “are Adelaide med offers out”, I get an email & think it’s my parcel. I am more excited for my parcel than any med offer so plz be courteous to my parcel & I. Thank u all

Got an email from uwa a few days ago and they said "eligible applicants based outside of WA will be offered an interview based on actual ATAR and UCAT ANZ score. Does anyone know what that means as in do they check ATAR is over 99 then rank for interview based on UCAT or is it a combination etc.

I have read somewhere UWA now selects for interview based on meeting the ATAR threshold 99.0 then ranked solely on UCAT. But for place offers it will be ATAR + UCAT + Interview equally weighted.

Hi, so I’ve seen the Y12 Admissions Criteria post and when I get to the interview column, I’m not sure about what places mean. When it says ~350 interviewees and ~100 places, does it mean that 350 people are interviewed and about 100 people receive offers, or does it mean that 350 people are interviewed and 100 people enter the course most years with more than 100 offers?

Generally universities will over-offer in anticipation of some offers being declined. In the example you’ve given there would be 100 places in the course, and the uni might offer 120 in anticipation of 20 people declining their offers.

I am a NSW student applying to Curtin Medicine. Does anyone know roughly when we will hear from them if we get an interview offer?

You also really can't tell how an interview went as its the interviewer marking it, not you

Not only this^ but also your interview is ranked relative to the other interviewees and you have no idea how the others have done. You could correctly assess you did well but if they all did better you still end up near bottom, and vice versa.

All you should do now is pray 🤣

Hey guys, so I got an offer for the usyd ddmp but I don't want to lock out unsw med as an option by enrolling at usyd. Between the two, which do you think is a better med school/overall med system and why?
(Any and all thoughts + advice would be greatly appreciated)

Both are pretty well established medical programs and will give you the same end-result. If you want to start studying medicine straight away and/or graduate a year earlier, take UNSW. If you would rather do an undergrad degree (and potentially explore some other interests) before starting medicine a few years later and don’t mind the extra year, USYD would be the logical choice. Hope that helps :) I can answer any specific queries about the UNSW med program if you have anymore.

You don't lock out Unsw by enrolling at USyd. Best action now is to enrol USyd then move it to bottom pref, allowing Unsw/WSU/JMP to be at higher prefs and you might get an offer on 10th Jan.

Then you have a few weeks to decide which one you prefer. In fact you can sit on both offers until March before dropping one, all the time holding out another applicant from getting it.

(Of course I don't support doing this, but I will grind on until UAC realises the potential problem they create when unis can make direct med offers or double up on multiple rounds).

My Griffith application on QTAC still says 'pending (more information)' under Entry Requirements. Should I be concerned? It's the only one of my preferences that doesn't have 'Satisfied' beside it. When I click the '(more information)' hyperlink, all of the prerequisites and institution admission rules say they have been satisfied.

No, it likely means they haven’t decided on the cutoff yet. Offers aren’t due until Jan 10th at the earliest so I certainly wouldn’t panic yet.

Hello, does anyone know where the UNSW interviews are held? I'm looking at booking accommodation and would like to book somewhere close to the interview location! Thanks :)

Except for rural applicants interviews are held at UNSW Med school, Kensington campus (unless they have changed this year, unlikely though).

Just to add to A1’s comment, the interviews are held in ‘Wallace Wurth’ building on Botany Street

if a offer is differed and taken a gap yr would this person be categorised as a school leaver for 2021. Should I contact UAC /QTAC for this information or university. When offers are given in 2020 for 2021 do they give priority to school leavers rather than gap yr students.
