You asked about WSU(/JPM), not UQ.
It might have been a miscommunication, but I contacted CSU this morning and asked if interstate interview offers had been released (I was calling about other things) and they said yes? They said rejection emails would come out in the next few days. But again, could certainly be a miscommunication!

Hello, does someone have a list of the universities that have offered interviews for med? And also, which universities will be offering interviews after ATAR is released? Thank you!

Check out the collated data thread for invites released to date.

Sorry, I’m not sure what you’re referring to. CSU dent? JPM? I can assure you interstate JPM interviews have not been released yet. We have had zero reported here and that will change as soon as they are released in December (which JPM have confirmed). You can check the collated interview invite data thread to confirm for yourself if you wish.

Would it silly to mention previous unsuccessful attempts at getting into medicine as a way to say I learnt from those experiences or should I use another example?

Sounds like a reasonable example to use if you're able to build on it further in the interview. The interviewers would be well aware that there's many well-qualified applicants and not many actual places, so they certainly won't hold it against someone for not getting an offer in their first attempt. And if nothing else it supports the argument that you're genuinely interested in medicine, such that you continued to seek a place despite setbacks.

In response to what question were you planning to give this answer? I think it would depend on the question.

In my opinion, it is contextual. For instance, I would advise against using your past attempts as an example of how you overcame failure. You are missing out on an opportunity to reflect on other aspects of your life - i.e. failure in a sporting setting. Not only does this avoid the interviewers potentially looking unfavourably on you by questioning why you failed in the first place, but it shows you're a more well-rounded person. Alternatively, I believe it can be "ok" talking about unsuccessful attempts on a medicine-orientated station, only if you explain how you grew from this - sought more volunteering experience, talked to doctors to confirm your interests... etc. Regardless, I never sought to bring it up personally.

Hi, yes sorry, was referring to JPM. I also noticed that none had been reported on the interview invite data thread! I suppose that it's just interesting that they seem to be giving out incorrect information to some people.

Unfortunately, rather than interesting, it is actually pretty standard! We see it repeatedly every admissions cycle and often warn users of this when they are reporting that the university has told them something.

Hello everyone, are we expected to integrate life experience into all of our answers to MMI scenario/ethics questions?

Include them if it’s appropriate, but it definitely won’t be an expectation for every station, nor will you even have the opportunity to include your own experience for some stations.

do you guys think it's a bad idea to ask the interviewers at the MMI station how many quesitons are going to be asked? i think i feel much more relaxed knowing how to roughly time my answers rather than going in blind, but I don't want to seem unconfident i guess

You won’t really be given an opportunity to do this, and it’ll cut into your allocated time if you awkwardly force it at the start (and it will probably just be wasted time as I’d imagine they can’t break from their largely standardised ‘script’).

hi, does anyone know whether there is a side they are expecting us to be on when it comes to topics such as euthanasia or abortion or do we just kind of talk about the arguments from each side? also, should it more objective or subjective (ie. can I talk about how my own religion has affected how I see the issue)

There’s no expected side you should take for those ones. Generally speaking you should talk about the pros and cons of both sides, then usually you’ll need to pick a side and justify it. The justification is important but your own personal experiences can definitely come into it.

If we get a question about an Aboriginal person who has died in custody, after we have discussed the severe racism the indigenous community have dealt with in the past and still to this day, is it alright to say that when addressing the issue in court, the case should not be treated any differently because the man is Aboriginal.

Hi guys I have 2 questions

1) could someone clarify if CSU Medicine interviews are seperate to the WSU interviews? Sorry this is probably a silly question. But I just did my WSU interview and don’t think I did too well, so it would be nice to have another shot if Charles Strurt has a seperate interview. I am A rural, NSW resident and non-standard (1 year of a degree)

2) how many rural students does JMP interview?
