Can you provide an example? You just need to answer the question that you’re asked - if the question is based on the initial scenario or prompt, then refer to it. If it’s not related, then you could relate it to the prompt if appropriate, but don’t shoe-horn the prompt in if it’s unrelated to the question you’re asked and won’t strengthen your answer.Hello
During an MMI interview and when we are given a prompt and some follow up questions. If I find the follow up questions to be very general and not very related to the prompt at all, is it still recommended that I at least mention the prompt somewhere in my answers?
Thank you![]()
I might be breaching the confidentiality thing if I do haha... I've just been doing some post - interview reflection. But thank you for the insight, I will keep this in mind for JMP!Can you provide an example? Anyone had a bad experience with interviews so far? I had an interview at Adelaide yesterday but the zoom call didn't end up working. I contacted them & they said I hadn't logged into the zoom meeting by the time the interview started so they ended the interview even though I had. Not sure what to do now ://
I did lodge a formal statement however, they persisted that they never saw me log into the zoom waiting room by the time my interview had started even though I had. I even got this weird notification from zoom saying that my interview had been scheduled for the 25th of November even though it was confirmed to be on the 27th. I sent them screenshots but they continued to persist that they had never seen me log in & blamed me for not coming on time. Really disappointed ngl because I wasted time preparing for ucat, ucat/admission fees, preparing for the interview etc & don't get a shot because of an error on their behalf that they cannot see.You definitely need to lodge a formal statement about your difficulties and enquire specifically about booking a re-do. I’m really sorry to hear this happened, and I hope universities are at least somewhat accommodating with this as I’m sure you won’t be the only one. I understand that they have heaps of interviews to go through and many more applicants than places so those that have technical difficulties are a bit at their mercy, but I honestly hope they’re reasonable on this front. Best of luck and keep us posted.
It could be that they had (mistakenly) expected you on 25th and you weren't in. Then you weren't expected on 27th so your login didn't get linked to a session. I hope you have both screenshots of these 25th vs 27th and send them directly to the Adelaide Med Dean.I even got this weird notification from zoom saying that my interview had been scheduled for the 25th of November even though it was confirmed to be on the 27th.
I did send them a screenshot but they didn’t acknowledge it at all in their reply unfortunately. No idea whyIt could be that they had (mistakenly) expected you on 25th and you weren't in. Is this the screenshot showing 25th, and you have something else saying 27th? You need both to prove there's a discrepancy on Adelaide's part.I did send them a screenshot
Yep I showed a screenshot of my confirmed booking & the notification that said it was on the 25th & still no luckIs this the screenshot showing 25th, and you have something else saying 27th? You need both to prove there's a discrepancy on Adelaide's part.
I suggest you CALL then email both evidences to these Adelaide Medicine staffYep I showed a screenshot of my confirmed booking & the notification that said it was on the 25th & still no luck
Only mention it if it’s somehow relevant to the station, though I can’t imagine the fact that you got an interview via an equity pathway being relevant. It’s more likely that your experiences which have led to you being classified in the equity “quota” could potentially be useful to support your answer(s) if relevant.Hi, new around here, so dunno if this is the correct thread to post to.
If I was offered a MMI interview via an Equity Pathway, would it be advisable to mention that to the interviewer? Or would this be only if it was relevant?
Up to you what you want to discuss, though the interviewers are probably given an academic example most of the time and if it was just a matter of deciding between academic and non-academic without a preference for either, they'd probably appreciate a non-academic example more. This also gives you an opportunity to showcase extra-curricular aspects of your life which could work favourably to demonstrate you're a well-rounded individual.hi, if we're asked something like "give an example of a time you've failed" is it fine to talk about an academic/school example or should i think of a non-school related one? thanks!
