*Received an update on the interview conundrum*

So, I received a follow up email from the uni & it was straight up gaslighting. I sent them the screenshot of the notif saying my interview as on the 25th at 9am when it was meant to be on the 27th. However, because I had took the screenshot AFTER my interview would have occurred (I took it at 12:53pm AEDT/Sydney time when the interview was from 12:30-12:45pm AEDT/Sydney time)they said I must have been simply late to the interview & got confused with the time differences. I don't understand how this makes sense. Just because I took the screenshot later, does not mean I am late. They also did not acknowledge once more that the notification displayed the wrong interview date/time.

Furthermore, they mentioned that if I happened to arrived late but still during the interview time, a member of staff would contact me & let me know I can't proceed. They said I arrived COMPLETELY AFTER the session so it was ended. However, this is outright false as I arrived on time & was present the entire time DURING in which the interview was supposed to have taken place but no member of staff contacted me.

Honestly got not idea what to do. Don't know if I want to even go there if this is how poorly they handle situations.

Sorry to hear that.

This definitely isn’t fair. Try and escalate to the Dean or the university appeals committee - it’s best to get into this ASAP as once the interview process is complete, you’ll be delayed another year even if they end up agreeing with you.

This is for students but I think you should give it a go anyways: Student Grievance Resolution Process | University of Adelaide There’s an email at the bottom to contact - they’ll probably turn you down on the basis that you’re not a current student but it’s worth a try.

I think it might also be worth informing whoever you’ve been in contact with so far directly that you’ll be escalating the matter and urging them to reconsider their decision.

The Ombudsman should be a last resort if the above isn’t successful: https://www.adelaide.edu.au/legalandrisk/system/files/media/documents/2019-01/Ombudsman_101.pdf

Your best bet with any contact is to send an email, then make a follow up phone call to confirm they’ve received the email and make sure they know it’s an urgent situation.

Good luck and please keep us updated.

As I have suggested a few times, you need to CALL a senior staff to emphasize this part^. It's a strong indication that the interview organisers/ZOOM somehow had expected you on 25th, so when you logged in on 27th as per confirmed booking ZOOM did not connect you to an interview session.

Don't argue whether you were late on 27th, instead argue that ZOOM had expected you on a wrong date.

Yep & thanks for your advice! I contacted a higher up but that was the reply I received. I never argued it on the basis of being late, I was always concerned about that anomalous notification. However, they turned it into a debate about whether I was late or not. This just seems like they don't want to take accountability

A question for all the previous interviewers/med students :)
I've just completed my UAdel med interview and I said most of what I wanted. However, when I've said these things in other interviewers such as for my UAdel dent and UQ med interviews, they were quite encouraging and generally liked what they had to say. However, in the UAdel med interview, the interviewers pretty much had a poker face and rarely smiled and nodded :( I'm just curious (dw about my feelings haha) if this is a bad sign, and if anyone had succeeded with a similar experience?

Some interviewers might just be intentionally/unintentionally vague/stony-faced to not give anything away. When I sat my interview last year one of my interviewers looked like a family member had just died while the other was smiling and nodding. Don't let their facial expressions distract you.

Hi,

I've just received an offer for an interview at Monash, and this is probably a trivial question, but what time/day should I book for the interviews? It goes from the 15th (Tue) - 17th (Thur) and from around 9-3. Has anyone ever experienced lethargic/bored interviewers during the afternoon or barely awake interviewers early in the morning? Thanks

The interviewers are professionals and/or respected community members who’ve agreed to provide their services. You can book at the time that best suits you.

Does anybody know about how the UWA Pharmacy interview relates to the Medicine interview?

One of my family members received an offer for an interview for pharmacy, with a statement that their predicted ATAR was too low for an interview for med, however if the actual ATAR is higher, they will use the results of the December interview.

Does this refer to the pharmacy interview, or is UWA's second round interview offers also in December? Lots of my brother's friends who wanted to try for Med has declined the Pharm interview, so I'd assume that these are different interviews, but I struggle to see any alternative meaning from the email.

It is the one interview for Med/Dent/Pharmacy at UWA. They are done at the same time and if you are applying for multiple courses they use the one interview you did to consider for your preferred placement. If you don’t have the grades for your top preference they use your second preference.

Helloo does anyone know how much importance/weighting WSU and Newcastle place on their interviews? I know GPA is threshold for both, but is UCAT a threshold as well or does it factor into ranking for offers? Not sure if I make sense but I really stuffed up interviews and want to see if my UCAT would help get me an offer 😣😣

JMP is 100% on interview score, WSU is 75:25 interview:UCAT.

Hi,
I applied for medicine at Monash, and I got the 96th percentile for UCAT, but I haven't received an offer for an interview this week. Did I simply not get a high enough UCAT score?

If you're local I think you should have gotten one - if you're interstate than it might be because it is too low

Monash considers the raw scores of the sub tests, not the percentile and also considers SJT. So not sure if this is the issue.
