General Interview Discussion and Questions: 2022 Entry

It'll all be worth it if I get in and then ill also get that sweet sweet rental income hahaha!
Exactly haha

But yeah, if I get an interview, then lots of things are still up in the air, but if I don't, I know I can throw myself into my current job (which I do like, don't get me wrong) and figure out how to drastically increase my QR score, which really dragged me down. Even though it's not worth that much in WSU's calculation, if my score there was as good as my scores in the other sections, I would have a score where I probably wouldn't be worried about whether or not I'd get an interview.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me when Western Sydney Uni are releasing their interview offers or if they already have? Their website says they would release interview offers around the end of October, which is now, so idk.

Thanks

Interesting to see that order of preferencing seems to matter for CSU dent invites this year. I put CSU dent as third preference in my UAC order, and didn't get an invite (yet at least) whilst another applicant who had the exact same score as I did received one (he/she put first preference). Has this always been the case?

P.S. Dumb question but do universities generally email or call applicants to tell them about offers/interview invites?

Im curious if you were right on the cutoff and if so maybe they preference one of the subtests as a tiebreaker? They could have also used preference rank as a tiebreaker which is fair. I would still contact CSU for clarification as it could just be an error/haven't sent your invite out yet

I had mine 4th and was able to get an offer, so I don't think preferencing may have been an issue

If it's true that preferencing influences invites, I don't think that means it's impossible to get an invite with a lower preference. It would just mean that the lower your preference, the higher your UCAT score must be and the higher the preference, the lower your UCAT can be. It was my last preference and I haven't got an invite, even though people with lower scores got invites possibly because it was higher in their preferences.

If you check the CSU thread you’ll see someone has received word from admissions that not all invites have gone out yet and the rest will be sent Monday. Given there’s no clear preferencing divide with the invites we’ve seen so far, this is the more likely explanation.

Invites are emails, offers are via UAC/QTAC etc, as well as emails.

Also its quite disingenuous to not inform candidates that their preferences will be taken into consideration for anything except for tiebreaker IMO. Im sure half of the invites have just not been released yet :)

I am currently on my 2nd year of a degree. For CSU dent, is it only UCAT or does it look into gpa/atar for tertiary studnets? If so what are the requirements. I got a 95 ATAR and my GPA is 5.

I just contacted them, and they said they will come out throughout the course of this week apparently. - WSU and CSU jpm invites

Do CSU and WSU offers interview invites normally come out at the same time?
WSU has said there offers interview invites are released no-one seems to have received correspondence as of yet though
