I haven't received a WSU interview offer nor rejection....anyone else?
UMAT 87%
67/59/51
Local applicant
Assuming you correctly filled out your application, it indicates that you are just slightly below their cutoff and may be invited to interview if people decline their offers.

Hey guys, I heard from someone that umat is only weighted 20% for final ranking at UWS this year. Can anyone confirm this?

Given that no one has actually received a firm place offer (only interview) at UWS, the only people that could confirm this would be the UWS admissions staff.

I received the email saying "Thankyou for your application for WSU's MBBS etc" so I assume that means I filled it out correctly?
Does that mean any response I get will be for a second round interview?

You could still get first round if people pull out, but only if you are local. Interstate are placed on second round regardless. (Not sure if this includes qld)

btw I think this pathway is no longer available from this year.

It is still mentioned on their 2017 web-site @ M3N Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Courses & Units - University of Tasmania, Australia

As UTAS so strongly favours local students for the MBBS, I think that this is a policy to broaden the diversity - intellectual, cultural..... - of the students. Fair enough that UTAS wants to train local students..... but a few mainlanders is not a bad thing.

BTW. Is there a difference between an ATAR of 99.95 and an ATAR 99.00 for JCU? since Queensland students only get a 99 rank but no decimal rankings.
Sorry had to post here, since the JCU thread is currently full of people posting offers.

Hi, I really don't know much about JCU admission process but the prediction of ATAR form that the school submits (i.e. the one used for first round interview offers) does not differentiate between 99.00 and 99.95. I do not know whether this extends to second round interview offers or actual place offers though.

After actual results are available QCAA can provide the ATAR equivalent (in smaller steps) of an OP to the universities if requested. But for JCU I guess they only go with the broad prediction of like OP1, which can be anywhere between 99.0 - 99.95

Can non yr 12 students without predicted atars get first round interviews or second round interviews at JCU?

I suppose we can now assume that if we didn't get an email then we will not be getting one. Oh well.

Myself and another individual have called JCU and they said there are still some offers to send out which will be done Mon/Tues.

I don't know how accurate the lady who picked up the phone was, but perhaps there's still hope.

Thanks for that. I've got one at JMP but I didn't want all of my eggs in one basket.
