Can confirm no one cares. What people do care about is how good you personally are and if you have some good references to back that up.
There emerged yet another med school in WA - now :) officially recognised ans accredited by the AMA
Curtin’s medical program receives accreditation - News and Events | Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia

UWA apparently does not seek predicted ATARs from interstate candidates (at this stage) but whether this suggest any particular course of action on their part in terms of interviews administration - I have no idea.

Are UWA's Nov/Dec notifications by e- or snail mail, anyone ?
That means they will wait until the release of actual ATARs to invite interstate students for interview!!

Is anyone able to estimate percentages of attendance to various med/dent school interview offers?

For example if a university is offering 500 interviews, what is the likely percentage of attendance, considering many people were offered multiple interviews and may therefore neglect attending ALL options

Really vague question but was interested if there were any trends

Honestly no one can give you an honest answer. We can guess that attrition rates for undergrad interviews are quite high due to the lack of a centralised match system, but to which extent? We don't know. If you read the tea-leaves and come back with an answer it will be as good a guess as any.

Try not to think about how many people will attend or bomb the interview, just focus on your individual performance as it's the only variable within your control.

I would say well over 90% attend their 1st round interviews including those with multiple offers. It's mostly for in-state applicants not difficult to travel to and before they know of any place offers, can't afford to waste an opportunity.

My 2nd round at Unsw last year was also well attended. There were 8 waiting seats in the lobby area for the 8 panel interviews per session, not one seat was empty for my session nor the session before mine nor the one after. The 2nd round at Monash wasn't so full though, I estimated about 1/3rd empty to the extent that Monash then called several more interstate applicants to come urgently for a 3rd round.

I forfeited my 2nd rounds at UWS & JMP mainly because they were on consecutive days right after Monash but also I had a home-state place offer by then. I guess there were others in this situation too so hope this give you a general picture.

Hi, sorry this has probably been addressed earlier in the thread but what's the deal with UTAS offers if there's no interview? Do they just release offers based off ATAR/GPA and UMAT in January? Thanks in advance.

That's correct. Offers for non-standards come out mid-late Dec and "overseas" Y12s in January, wait for an email or monitor your UTas application webpage.

I received an email on 7th Jan "Congratulations, you have received an offer to study at the University of Tasmania. Your Letter of Offer is available from our online application system". Turned out the offer was for B MedRes with assured entry to Med 3 years later, total 8 years so I said no thanks
(btw I think this pathway is no longer available from this year).

This might be kinda silly, but are second round interview offers for a new group of people being interviewed or the same group from the first round being interview again to confirm their places?

A new group of applicants - mainly interstate or those who didn't qualify with their predicted Atar but now qualify with actual Atar.

Oh okay. I know they say that they can not change your interview day or time, but if you get a first round offer and can definitely not make it would they let you do it with the next group? I'm overseas on a volunteer trip during the interview period :( Would I have to decline the offer?

Should be able to request a change to 2nd round but hard to say if they will oblige.
Which state are you from and which uni is this?

I'm from QLD and it's JCU

I'm not familiar with JCU's process but best thing to do is call and plead your case to JCU for 2nd round interview.

I haven't received a WSU interview offer nor rejection....anyone else?
Also, why would this be the case considering people with much better UMAT scores have been rejected already?
(I have checked and double checked all of my email folders)
UMAT 87%
67/59/51
Local applicant
