Hi Mana and A1,
My son got offers at CSU and UQ. He was hoping to get UNSW as He thought that was his best interview. but it didn't come thru today. In the UAC offers, he has 'I' Code against his medical course (which says not eligible') what does it mean. Appreciate your help
From where you see the I code, did you login to UNSW my application?

HI Man, Thanks again I really appreciate you , A1 and PI and few others for your time.

I have shown my son your message and ask him to join, participate and contribute. I even explained to him how you A1, and pi (who are graduated or almost into their final years)m but still doing these kind of volunteer works to release the stress of so many y12 and other people who want to be a doctor. I am sure he will join soon,

But When I looked at his rejection from WSU , which says code 'I' as well (because he didn't have the adequate weighted average), I thought UNSW is a rejection as well. But There are no other codes to accomedate 2nd/3rd round offers. In that sense, you may be correct. As you said, It doesn't matter where you do your medical degree (unlike other degrees where you may have advantage based on your university ranking for post graduate studies or jobs) as far as you are going to be good doctor.

MSO only exists because of people contributing their time and effort to help others so that those people can continue the work. In that sense I'm glad to have helped you here - I'm not going to be very active for much longer as I will be working, and will be relying heavily on @pi @A1 and the other mods, as well as some very knowledgeable regular members on here.

I feel like your son would get a lot out of joining MSO and asking about everything, and perhaps he can also help some others out in the future.

Well, it's going to be a very busy few days :)

Re Monash MBBS

Total number of places (all-inclusive): 240 (A1's reference table)
Number of round 1 offers: 123 (today's The Age)
Number of places still available 117

Number of interviewees invited to round 2 (4 sessions @ 24 people each): 96

Assuming that all invited are (?) above r1 cutoff(s), the conclusion seems to be: good interview, good chance

Where can i find the similar info for UNSW? I will be calling UNSW today, If I find out, I will let you all know

Victorian media cover the unfolding VTAC campaign :) in real-time and in great detail, have not seen this meticulous presentation coming from NSW.
In the absence of actual data (perhaps the booking exercise about to be disclosed in few hrs' time will provide some factual info) I would not dare to interpolate or pro-rate but since UNSW states that 'no interstate candidates are being disadvantaged', a simplistic ratio of available places/total number of interviewees (180/450 - ref A1) suggests that - perhaps - Monash presents a better opportunity. At least at this stage.

Again, without the actual r1/r2 breakdown of supply/demand indices, this remains a speculative statistical approximation.

Does that 240 include international students?

Have all adelaide second round interview offers been sent out?
"The SECOND ROUND of interviews is
held between 25 and 27 January 2017. Invitations to the second round of interviews will be extended via email on Thursday 19 January 2017. Applicants who are not eligible at this stage for an interview will also be noti ed on this date.

January interview invitations will be based on a combination of performance in the UMAT (with each of the three UMAT sections having equal weight) and academic results on a 1:2 weighting. Approximately 150-200 applicants will be invited to attend a second round interview."

So I believe they should all be sent out by 5pm today (both offers and rejections)- could be coming out progressively- check your spam!

Thank you! I received a provisional email in like November from memory but an official invitation last night (around 6:30 pm). I can understand the tension of having to wait ... hopefully you hear from them soon!

Re UNSW interview

Any estimation (planning :( ) of the max total time that the said process takes (from the scheduled start until the candidate is out of the door and allowed :) to go) ?

Um it honestly depends on the lengrh of your interview but they usually start on time but you should arrive a bit earlier... and from then on approx 1 - 1.5 hrs depending on the time it takes for your interview + they ask you to wait while they deliberate, and then you are allowed to leave. For me I was done in 1hr 15 mins total.
