Am I correct in thinking that there isn't even a slight chance of a later round offer from Monash if I didn't get the interview?

That's correct, yes, and @bbbb is also correct in stating that if a university requires an interview for entry into a course and you don't get an interview you are always denied entry into that course.

I received a call this afternoon from UWA (but I am working, unable to take it) with the offer.
Also today, my friend received her Curtin offer - via email
No news from Monash though, anyone?

Just got a Monash interview invitation:
ATAR: 99.85+ (based off Gold Coast Griffith cutoff) UMAT: 100%ile (71/68/71)

God they took their time!

Congrats, with your scores and doing MMI (unusual to completely bomb an MMI) you're almost guaranteed a place offer.

Have you tried booking your interview time, how many time slots show for 24th how many for 25th? Thanks

I am sure you must have offers from Queensland. Are you looking to move to Melbourne for a under graduate med.

Yes I've just booked my interview, there were 4 sessions available:

Session 1: 7.45am 24th Jan (quarantine after interview)
Session 2: 9.45am 24th Jan (quarantine after interview)
Session 3: 12.15pm 25th Jan (quarantine after interview)
Session 4: 12.15pm 25th Jan (quarantine before interview)
Sections 2 and 3 are full now, ~22 free spots in sections 1 and 4.
They're all 4.5 hours long due to the quarantine.

Yeah exactly I'm not keen on provisional entry so I'm hoping to move interstate for undergrad. Was offered Griffith Gold Coast (1st pref).

Hi Mana and A1,
My son got offers at CSU and UQ. He was hoping to get UNSW as He thought that was his best interview. but it didn't come thru today. In the UAC offers, he has 'I' Code against his medical course (which says not eligible') what does it mean. Appreciate your help

If you could post a screenshot of this for me, or PM me a screenshot (edit out your son's personal details of course), I may be able to help you further - it has been ten years since I last logged into UAC!

However, from what I can tell, this sounds very much like he did not score high enough for an offer at UNSW, for now at least - there may be the potential for future round offers.

UNSW is probably the most subscribed undergraduate medical course in the country, so it's quite difficult to get entry to it!

I am unable to get into UAC site now. When I can, I will post it. Thansk for the quick reply

UMAT: 97%ile (83/54/55)

Anyone else going to try and make it for both Monash and UNSW? Definitely gonna be tricky but fingers crossed!

Hi Mana
here is the website explaining the codes:
https://www.uac.edu.au/documents/check-change/Offer_eligibility_explanations.pdf

My Son ATAR 99.55 and UMAT 93. He received offers for all the interviews he had attended in other unis(for med and dental) . So I assume he has been doing alright with the interviews. He claims that UNSW's interview was the best. But you don't know these things as it s relative to how other people did. I always thought he is just below the median when it comes to UNSW(Including all three components). I am not sure what do these codes mean. Does it mean he might be considered int he 2nd round or we have to take it as a rejection. I am very happy for him to leave the house and do medicine in UQ or JCU as it will be a good life-experience for any youngster.

From the link it says:
I: Not eligible – you have not satisfied additional selection criteria.
You are not eligible for an offer to this course as you do not meet the additional selection criteria. If you do not know what the additional selection
criteria are for this course, check the course description by using UAC’s course search.

In this case the additional selection criteria would have been a high enough interview score and a high enough umat score so that combined he would rank in the top X people applying when combined with his ATAR.

Congratulations to your son (you should get him to post and ask questions on here himself - he may find it useful!) for getting other offers, but unfortunately, at least, for this offer round, he did not score high enough to receive a UNSW place. He may very well be eligible for one in future rounds.

Bear in mind that other than for the purposes of determining your internship location, no one cares about where you did your degree nor do they care about the name of your medical degree just as long as it was done in Australia or NZ. He should be equally able to practice medicine in Australia if he were to go to UQ or JCU - except that he would likely be working in Queensland rather than NSW.

HI Man, Thanks again I really appreciate you , A1 and PI and few others for your time.

I have shown my son your message and ask him to join, participate and contribute. I even explained to him how you A1, and pi (who are graduated or almost into their final years)m but still doing these kind of volunteer works to release the stress of so many y12 and other people who want to be a doctor. I am sure he will join soon,

But When I looked at his rejection from WSU , which says code 'I' as well (because he didn't have the adequate weighted average), I thought UNSW is a rejection as well. But There are no other codes to accomedate 2nd/3rd round offers. In that sense, you may be correct. As you said, It doesn't matter where you do your medical degree (unlike other degrees where you may have advantage based on your university ranking for post graduate studies or jobs) as far as you are going to be good doctor.
