JCU 2017 Interview Offers Discussion

no email for me (non-standard). feeling really down after spending lots of time on my application.
so is it safe to assume that this is it and 2nd round is mostly for people with pending results ?

Congrats! if you don't mind me asking what was your GPA?

Hi,
I study Law at UNSW.
UNSW uses a WAM system rather than GPA.
My WAM is 78.5/100 which is derived from 4 courses - a HD in one, D in two and a CR for the other.
According to my friend, my GPA in a 7 point system would be around 6ish. My ATAR in 2015 was 99.60.

Guys, please do not worry! This is not the end..
Non-standard applicants are usually called in for the second round, which according to what I have read, includes around 200 offers.
You are all living in a country where there are multiple pathways into the course of your dreams. It doesn't have to happen immediately. It will require patience. To the non-standard students, UNDERLOAD your courses and ENJOY uni!! You will get into medicine eventually.
If JCU doesn't work out, I am perfectly fine :) I am doing a bunch of things with the Law and UN society at UNSW. Getting involved. Enjoying my time at uni. Don't stress. Don't worry. It would work out eventually.

Goodluck! :)

Congrats on the interview, and good luck with it. I am sure you'll kill it :)
You are so right. Never lose hope. I even sat the GAMSAT couple of times. If you want something so bad, never give up. You will get there eventually!

Congratulations to everyone who recieved an offer!
Is it safe to say that first round offers are done and dusted?
Does anyone know if second round interviews can be conducted through skype, if due to extenuating circumstances you are not in Australia for second round interviews?

This is straight from the information sheet: https://www.jcu.edu.au/__data/asset.../173873-Information-Sheet-MBBS-2017_V2pdf.pdf

'To be considered for a place in medicine, applicants must attend the interview at the allocated time and date.

Changes to allocated times/dates cannot be considered due to the volume of interviews. All interviews will be conducted at the College of Medicine and Dentistry in Townsville.'
