I got an email from Latrobe saying that I wasn't eligible for an offer for the Aspire Program but then received another email a day after saying that was an error and they will reissue my conditional offer shortly. Anyone else got the same?
So does that mean, you have received a conditional offer ?

I'm pretty sure you have to submit your VTAC application before because iirc there was a section in the Aspire Application where you have to type in your VTAC ID which is made after you submit your VTAC application.
You can make a VTAC ID without submitting your preference and also putting your VTAC ID wasnt compulsory on aspire application, so idk if i should do it or not. La trobe is also not replying to my email

Hey mate is DDENT here, I posted the result for my brother. Honestly, my atar was 99.15 and when the cut off was 99.20 in 2019 I didn’t get an offer. Short answer is it is very unlikely for you to get an offer.
Reason being, my brother was living interstate and La Trobe offered guaranteed spots for those people irrespective of the atar cut off 99.9 to get more rural students in the course. This is why he got the offer. Also, my brother was eligible for more than 10 aggregate points because 10 is the max for city people whereas 20 is the max for rural. Also, in regards to the guaranteed offers, there was 85 guaranteed for many rural people and 75 if they had aspire so the talk about the bonus points being less than yours is redundant imo. I know it sucks and I missed out by 0.05 in my year also. Ended up doing a science course and transferring into med later. But in my experiences with the pain I would suggest not to get your hopes up. But best of luck Ofcourse ! Hope this helps.
Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. Can you please explain the rural offers around ‘85 guaranteed for many rural people and 75 if they have aspire’? What are the numbers referring to, is it atar or places available to study the medical degree? Thanks.

Anyone know if a 99.75 rank non-rural would have a shot at LaTrobe dent first preference? I think it's unlikely I have a chance but just wondering

Hey guys, quick questions, people have mentioned that there is a maximum of 20 aggregate points you can get added onto your ATAR, but i know people who have got in with 75 ATAR but they were rural, how does that work? A1 do you know how this works?

You can see the data in this table > https://vtac.edu.au/files/pdf/reports/atar-to-aggregate-23.pdf

ATAR 75.35 = 128.4 pts , add 20 = 148.4 pts , which converts back to ATAR 87.0.

but it says the lowest selection rank is 99.9, so how does that work? Sorry im really confused

___________
A1 replies: I'm not sure, but there are a few possibilities
1. The ATAR 75.35 was a special-category entrant
2. Rural is a separate pool with a different Lowest SR
3. The data were not checked properly thus inaccurate (which is not unheard of !)

Did you end up getting one?

Hi, I am a regional year 12 applicant (RA2) with a predicted ATAR of 92.
What are my chances of getting into Latrobe Dentistry?

I unfortunately did not receive a aspire offer
Your chances are excellent from what I'd heard at the open day.

Suppose the above individual received the maximum SEAS consideration (10 aggregate scores) + the 4 extra aggregate scores for Bio & Chem.

Using La Trobe's ATAR adjustment calculator, their ATAR would adjust to 99.45

limejuice your ATAR alone is higher than that, I'd say you have a good chance, though I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable on here to respond to your question.

Your chances are excellent from what I'd heard at the open day.
Are dental candidates subjected to interviews (mmis), like medical student candidates?

what did you hear, if i may ask? Because the maximum aggregate is 20 points, so 92, would increase to 97.4 according to this https://vtac.edu.au/files/pdf/reports/atar-to-aggregate-23.pdf, which is still below the lowest selection rank of 99.9.

Are dental candidates subjected to interviews (mmis), like medical student candidates?
nope, they also consider ATAR and rurality

On the VTAC website, it says that the minimum ATAR (inc. adjustment factors) is 99.95 while on the la trobe website it says it was 99.75 for 2023 and it is up to date? Highly likely to be former, but just wanted to double check

yeah the 99.75 is 2023 lowest selection rank, and 99.95 is 2024 rank, they just haven't updated on Latrobe website

Thanks for answering my 2nd question. Apologies for doubling up questions, should have read the thread more thoroughly.

Non-rural
Honours only: 7 GPA/83 WAM
Both courses combined: 6.85 GPA/ 78 WAM
Applied for SEAS
Personal statement with 3 letters of support from: High School rep/personal contact, employer and research supervisor (not sure if this has any weight but used it for JCU so might as well for La Trobe).

Community experience:
Area Warden at my place of employment -- first point of contact for all forms of emergencies. It's a voluntary role on top of my employment.
Briefly mentioned I completed the DoE Bronze and Silver Award in High School.

Let me know if I've missed something.
Did you get into your program of choice with aspire? How does it all work?

Has anyone got offers from any VTAC course yet, or gotten an offer?
I was really hoping to get one in November round and didn't. I am absolutely gutted. I am currently a registered Dental Hygienist with AHPRA and graduated from Bachelor of Oral Health with Distinction 10 years ago. I am metro applicant and not sure why I didn't get in. I was really hoping to study in 2025!
