Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

Course Type: Medicine
Offer Received: Yes
University: UQ (already have UTas offer from last year)
UMAT:
71%ile rank
ATAR or GPA: OP1
Special Considerations: Rural RA3, EAS
Other Information: UTAS offer received in November last year was bonded. UQ is unbonded. Both CSP.

I live in WA, so I got a text this morning just after 6.30am (WST) but was doing my morning jaunt along the beach and didn’t know the actual offer details until I got home a little while ago. Very happy and grateful for the opportunity (from both).

Hello all,

Quick question – just got accepted into Griffith GC Medicine (16th January). However, the QTAC website says:

"You must respond to QTAC within 5 days of offer (22th January) and enrol at Griffith to secure your place."

However, I am still hoping to receive an offer for UNSW Medicine (interviews on 18th January) which UAC offer rounds come out on 25th January (which is after the deadline to accept Griffith University).

Thus, if I were to accept Griffith University Medicine and enrol, would I still be able to withdraw it after 22nd January, if I were to receive an UNSW offer on the 25th January? Thanks.
How I interpreted that message was that you had to accept the offer within 5 days of receiving it and enrol in Griffith to secure your place, with the enrollment being allowed even after those 5 days, if that makes any sense. I could be wrong however.

Course Type: Provisional Med
Offer Received: Yes
University: UQ
UMAT: 55/87/47, 189
ATAR or GPA:
99.55
Special Considerations: none
Offer Type: BMP

cut-offs for non-bonded seem to be a lot higher than previous years

You must be right on the boundary as someone else with UMAT 189 got a CSP. Thanks for the info!

Course Type: Medicine
Offer Received: Heck yeah
University: Monash
UMAT: 80% (56/60/54)
ATAR or GPA: 99,35
Special Considerations: Monash Guarantee. Although I live on the border of RA1, apparently my area is low SES and hence I got Monash guarantee. According to calculator this means my ATAR selection rank is 99.95
Offer Type: CSP but not sure how to find if it is bonded? Doesn't mention anywhere.
Other Information: Just wanna say, 4 weeks ago I had made my peace with having to go through the UoM guaranteed pathway and doing FFP med in 3 years. No way did I even think I would get an interview for Monash with my terrible UMAT. As you can imagine, the day I got the email from Monash offering me interview I was firstly over the moon but later on skeptical whether I really even had a chance and that this was just some sort of teaser.
Nonetheless, I worked hard on preparing for the interview and here I am today with a CSP offer for Medicine at Monash.

Future students, don't give up so soon if you get a somewhat lower UCAT score or ATAR. You can absolutely still smash the interview and gain a place.
Good luck!

Course Type: Med
Offer received: Yes (received phone call on the 11th)
University: JCU
ATAR: 99.35
Special considerations: Unsure. I have lived rural for 5 consecutive years and thus have been eligible for other rural pathways (e.g. UQ and Griffith), however only 3 of these years were during school, so im unsure whether JCU classified me as a rural applicant on my application where I had to list all my schools.
Offer type: CSP
Other information: Congratulations to everyone who has received an offer and good luck to those waiting!

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: No
University: Adelaide, WSU, Monash
ATAR or GPA: 99.00
UMAT: 98
Special Considerations: none, high school leaver VIC
Other Information: looks like I'm heading down to Tassie! Won't be taking up UNSW interviews due to 6-year course.

If I accept this offer, is it still possible for me to be considered for later round offers for the same course but at GC?
Yep, just put GC at the top of your preference list and you’ll be eligible for future round offers if the cutoff drops to 99.7. Congrats on the offer!

What are my chances of a second round offer at Monash?

ATAR - 99.45
UMAT - 89

Not sure how I went in the interview - wouldn’t say I’d have been up the very top.
Maybe better than average or average at worst

Course type: Provisional Med
Offer received: Yes
University: UQ
UMAT: 97 percentile (194)
ATAR: 99.00
Special Considerations: no (NSW school leaver)
Offer type: CSP
Other info: will be declining UTAS offer and accept UQ

Hi,

I got dentistry at JCU. I was wondering though if there’s any chance I can still get into med second round. As medicine was my first preference
