Med and Dent - 2019 Entry (Offers)

I know someone interstate who didn’t even get an Monash interview invite with 99.35 and 180 umat and no adjustments . It seems the interstate cutoff is far above the Victorian one... is this policy? Does anyone here have any recommendations for my friend? Is this perhaps a mistake.?

Course Type: Medicine
Offer Received: No
University: University of Adelaide + Monash.
UMAT: 96%ile, 67/52/72
ATAR : 99.45
Special Considerations: None
From Vic.
Didn't get into Monash. Have accepted UTAS offer today.

The Monash interview was "ok". Is it still a slim chance for an offer in the second round on 4th Feb for Monash ?

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: Yes
University: La Trobe/ University of Melbourne
UMAT: 72% (164)
ATAR or GPA: 97
Special Considerations: Rural, RA2
Offer Type: CSP
Other Information: intending to reject for UNSW offer :)

Congrats!!! Hey can I ask how you felt you did in the interview?

I’m not sure if this question was directed towards me but seeing as it was directly below mine I’ll just answer it anyway

I felt really good after my interview (well as good as you can after an MMI) because in comparison to my JCU interview, I felt way better prepared and was able to answer their questions for the full length of time and even had to get cut off for a few questions bc I was talking for a bit too long

I think my interview must’ve been alright in the end seeing as my ATAR and UMAT are in the low end and I didn’t even expect an interview in the first place

Course Type: Med
Offer Received: Yes
University: Monash + Adelaide + UTAS + UQ Provisional
UMAT: 95 percentile (188 overall) 63/58/66
ATAR or GPA: 99.85 ATAR

N/A
Offer Type: CSP (except for UQ which was bonded)
Other Information: From Victoria so intending to go to Monash! Also received interstate interview offers for UNSW but will reject

Just a quick question, does anyone know what units I'm supposed to enrol in for Monash? The default ones that have appeared on my online enrolment is MED1100 and MED1200. Do I need to enrol in any other units such as MED1011 and MED1022? Thanks!

They should do, but given there are only 20 places and the entry requirements are a little lower than other universities, there probably won't be too many declines, unfortunately. A second round offer is dependent on those with a place offer declining. I'd be hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, if I were you. Thanks for letting us know - your ATAR will help us figure out the cut-off. Good luck for future offer rounds, and please let us know if you have any luck!
Hi all, some useful stats. I called Griffith today and asked lowest ATAR scores to receive an offer for Medical Science which gives you direct entry to Medicine.
Lowest ATAR Gold Coast: 99.75 -30 places
Lowest ATAR Nathan: 99.70 - 30 places.

Congratulations to all who received an offer.

Do we know whether ATAR cutoff is going to drop for the second round? (Seems reasonable because if it didn't drop, no one would really be getting an offer) I have a friend that got into Griffith Nathan but actually prefers the Gold Coast Campus, his ATAR is a 99.70 – we're hoping that he receives a second round Griffith GC Campus offer. If he does end up in Griffith Nathan, what are the requirements for an internal transfer?

Hey guys, congratulations to everyone getting offers :)
Does anyone know if JMP (UoN) and WSU have second round offers for medicine?

Both will make additional offers, yes. WSU will likely do this via the next UAC round. JMP have done it via direct phone call just after the next UAC round the past couple of years, I believe. Note, for JMP, these additional offers will largely be to interstate students who have not interviewed yet (but will very soon).

Never mind, worked it out myself. For other people, just click 'enroll' in the second column of the table for both MED1100 and MED1200 which gives you enough credit to successfully submit your enrollment, adding on more units won't work.

There’s a Monash meet and greet thread where people having been chatting about this (and other topics) most of the arvo. Feel free to join them and ‘meet’ some of your classmates :)
