Monash Monash Medicine: General Entry Discussion

does this include the 200 positions? are the bonded places in the 200 positions?

If you mean how Monash has around 200 places for med then yes. 30 of those 200 is this ERC thing, around 30% (I think?) are bonded and the rest are CSP.

is 95.85% atar enough for receiving an offer?
That really depends a lot. Do you have SEAS? Are you rural or non-rural, indigenous etc. Also, ATAR is only 1/3 of the equation, if you have a good UCAT and interview it will compensate for lower ATAR

i have SEAS, rural RA2 and ucat 79th percentile. i believe i did average in the interview. I also have monash guarantee

No point waiting for a mod to answer. We may be good, but we aren’t ‘accurately predict a candidate’s interview performance relative to the ~500 other people who were interviewed’ good!! The OP will just have to wait for VTAC like everyone else now.

Wait I've just seen something - is it actually 500 people interviewed?

It states here that 242 students are school leavers for medicine? No way the interview pass rate is around 50% right???

OMG. I knew I shouldn’t have plucked a number outta nowhere! Cue freak out ;)

I think it’s closer to 3/1 for Monash.

Uhh Dr Google says this :p

I honestly don’t think that’s accurate. UAdel interview ~800 and they have the most for undergrad, from memory.

ETA: Universities are well known for exaggerating numbers in promo material like that because it makes them sound more desirable and their successful candidates more ‘special’. For example, the unis that say ‘4000 applicants for medicine’ in their promo material but fail to mention a HUGE portion of those will never be close to being eligible, let alone getting an interview (and even moreso an offer). It’s a meaningless number, but gets flaunted in promo material a lot.

i thought it was around 600 people that are interviewed

Ahh I think I may have cracked the case! The 1000 may be for all applicants including international since there are 96 internaitonal students so around 300 of those spots may be for those ppl

There was no case! No one believed you ;)

I go with A1 over actual unis any day of the week.

How do they know so much about uni admissions?! Do they work for a TAC or something
