I'm an international student from India and gave the ISAT exam which is required for most unis instead of the UCAT ANZ. However, Uni of Adelaide recently removed the PQA for internationals and required the UCAT from them too. So here I'm, extremely pleased with my performance but with a headache.

VR: Comparable difficulty to mocks. Expected a lower score but done got better. Maintain concentration.
DM: Never expected this much was hoping around 800 but it was easier than almost every mock
QR: On the difficult side for me as I ran out of time and had to guess most of the question 27-36. Harder or equal to prep company mocks.
AR: Except like 1 set, everything was straightforward, way easier than the mocks. Only a single patter per set not two. Try to write down harder patterns so you don't waste time on figuring out which set the image belongs to.
SJT: Didn't care really

General comments on the exam/exam experience: I have such a headache rn.

The exam centre was professional, gave a single "booklet" with many pages to do calculations. Went to toilet before. Nothing else really. Might post mock exams late but rn gonna eat Sushi (my fav)

Sorry I forgot to mention!
I would like to give a special thanks to whys for being so supportive to not only me, but also others on the forums. He really helped me out for the UCAT and I must say, I don't think I would've even gotten remotely close to this score without them. I always annoyed him in the PM asking random DM questions and he got back to me as soon as possible. No matter what he was doing. This guys a legend and I just want to make sure people know that!

That's not to say you guys are amazing. Everyone, including 2xq , yuzzy , sevun , cocodreams and MANY OTHERS have been extremely helpful on the pre-ucat discussion and decision making forums. Good things will come for all of you! Trust me.

After having done the test now, despite my mixed feelings about it, I would like to THANK ALL OF YOU for helping everyone out on these forums during such tough times!

Sorry if this msg isn't suited here mods! You can delete if you want but I just thought I do my part in thanking the community!

Testing centre was really chill. I expected it to be really strict and kind of don't-put-one-foot-wrong because it's a med school admissions test? But everyone was really nice and friendly and relaxed. Definitely helped with my mood.
Surprisingly I didn't feel like I was too nervous, probably because I'd done practise questions and mocks to literal death at this point, so I was just trying to get it over with to some extent.

VR

I'm going to confess that I'm actually quite disappointed with this score. I found it harder than any of the mocks I'd ever done, and I'd always averaged 800+ on those, so I'm not sure how it went wrong here. Okay, I do know how it went wrong: it was really hard lol. Not to scare anyone, but I just found it very challenging and confusing to read everything.

DM
Pretty average, just like the practise questions/mocks I did.

QR
Gotta say I found this section easier than the mocks and I'm very happy with this score because I normally run out of time.

AR
I'm actually floored by this score. There were only 3 question sets that I had to guess, and I was able to see some of the patterns quite easily. Still, I'm completely shocked to get a score this high. This was my worst section by FAR before, but clearly I've come out with something like this, so I'd urge anyone reading this forum to BACK THEMSELVES! You never know how you might surprise yourself on the day.

SJ
I'm assuming that this is a good score but I don't know because I've never seen it presented as a number before. Definitely a super confusing section though, agonised a fair bit over a few questions and situations.

OVERALL I'm really happy with this score. Too bad my IB grades ain't good (and if you've heard anything about the M20 examination session, they probably have no chance of improving).

Awesome score, congrats! Especially VR! What was your strategy for VR- read Q first, scan for keywords, read the passage first, mixed? Any tips for DM too would be great

Overall slightly disappointed I was hoping for 3000 or more but let’s hope it’s enough to to at least get me an interview.

VR: the passages were relatively standard but I think I was a bit stressed and struggled to absorb the info within the time frame
DM: pretty standard in comparison to the official mocks
QR: Easy with short stems and compact tables
AR: Not too bad. Pretty similar to the official mocks

I'm pretty disappointed in the sense that I know this was approximately the cutoff for some of the universities last year (and thereby I am at the mercy of the conversion) and in comparison to my external mock performances (I will be posting this later). That being said, this is the mostly consistent with the scores I've achieved in the official practice mocks so it wasn't entirely unexpected.

VR: I felt the passages were alright. I was a bit nervous going into it. They were of medium length and I felt I had completed most of them to a suitable degree though evidently my scores don't reflect this :/.
DM: pretty standard in comparison to the official mocks. I was a bit more lenient when it came to making inferences which might have been my issue in some of the syllogisms. The Venn diagrams + probability that I rely on for marks were harder than I expected.
QR: I thought this one was quite easy but evidently I made some mistakes. I noticed that I would click to remove the calculator and sometimes this would change my answer response so this might have had an impact on my overall score. This was typically my best section and 800 is on the low end of my results.
AR: I thought I understood most of the sets though I must have missed something. I only fully guessed one. There was a lot more of a specific type of Set AB question (2-3) that I'm just not good at so maybe I just got unlucky :/. I will not go into any further detail about it.
SJT: Was good. I just winged it.

Overall, I'm feeling okay. I'm just going to wait for the conversions before I do anything. If I have to do this again, I'm pretty confident that it will go better :).

Edit: I'd like to thank everyone for their support :)

Right, did my test a few hours ago and here are my results:
Verbal Reasoning760
Decision Making740
Quantitative Reasoning740
Abstract Reasoning730
Total Score2970
Situational Judgement629

Honestly, I was quite happy until I saw what everyone else got, and people are upset that they did not get over 3000? What???
I will be later posting my mock scores.

That's MSO for you ;) Try not to let it get to you, I am fully confident that 2970 will be well into the 90%ile+ range, just like it was last year and as it always has been. Congrats on your score, especially VR!

General Comments:
It was a pretty chill experience! Got to the test centre around 40 minutes early and 10 minutes into waiting I volunteered to start early! The staff were all super nice and it was a really relaxed environment.

Verbal:
Kind of upset with my verbal as it was my best section consistently in mocks - I was scoring on average 850, so a bit disappointed with the actual score. I think I just got too caught up in my idea and stuck between answers and doubted myself too much haha. The passages were a bit longer than I expected.

Decision making:
Pretty basic, nothing too out of the ordinary.

Quantitative reasoning:
I thought this section was actually easier than the mocks and the official practice exams! I generally just skip the data, read the question then input whatever numbers into the calculator to get the answer.

Abstract reasoning:
This section is normally my worst out of the four so I was pleasantly surprised! The patterns weren't too complex or involved a lot of different rules, so I think all the practice questions I did over the year really helped me here and I could identify the basic patterns quickly.

Situational judgement:
Yup again nothing weird, did better than I expected!

Looking forward to the discussion!

Congrats on the score! Amazing! What was your approach for VR? Key word or reading the text first?
