I'm wondering if it could still qualify for a second-round interview at Monash University
Monash has round1 interviews for rural & Vic students, round2 for interstates (substantially higher cutoff). There's no round2 for Vic students with lower cutoff that you implied.

That said, being Vic local with Monash Guarantee, 99ish + 2900 is very likely to get Monash interview. We've seen many lower Vic scores.

Hey guys, I just sat the UCAT and would like to know which universities I have a chance at, both interstate and within NSW. I am a NSW school leaver with GWS and no other adjustments factors. My ATAR is expected to be to be 97-98+ as of now.

My 2023 UCAT scores were
VR-690
DM-870
QR-880
AR-880

Total- 3320
SJT- 615

Could I have some insight into which universities in Australia would be worth applying to?

I haven't done the formula calc but 690VR/3320 looks definitely enough for GWS. You should get WSU interview (offer chance 33-40%) and JMP (offer chance 25-35%). UNSW likely out due to 97-98 ATAR.

Your UCAT score will also get you UQ/CQU & Adelaide interviews. Since ATAR is counted into their offer ranking I'd rate them only 10-20% offer chances. (Correction: UQ might be more like 30% offer chance if you do Maths C equiv to bonus up ATAR to 99+).

If ATAR 98+ UWA is possible, and if you submit a TISC application for UWA might as well throw Curtin in.

Hi I was wondering what my offer chances are looking like for wsu (725.2) jmp and unsw considering I have EAS with a 3190 and 99 ish atar?

Since WSU & JMP take no ATAR and little to none UCAT into the final ranking, offer chances are about the same for all interviewees - 33-40% WSU and 25-35% JMP. This is simply based on the ratio of places to interviewees (minus an unknown number who might get a higher pref elsewhere thus not "eat up" a WSU/JMP place).

For UNSW, ATAR & UCAT count ~2/3rd of the final ranking. Assuming EAS will boost your 99ish to 99.95 + 3190 I rate your UNSW chance at 60-70%, quite better than WSU/JMP despite UNSW being known as more difficult.

(Note that these offer chances take zero consideration of your interview performance. After the interview - if you do an outstanding one they increase to 100%, a poor one they drop to zero%).

Hey everyone, finding this forum really educational.

I recently did my UCAT with got the following scores:
VR: 660
DM: 830
QR: 900
AR: 640
Total: 3030 :(

I was expecting to get way higher in VR (based on what I got in other mocks), so WSU was always an option for me until now haha. With that said, my aim is UNSW med (predicted ATAR >99.5). Other than USYD's 99.95 entry requirement (which, of course, is extremely difficult to achieve), is UNSW/ WSU possible? Are there other unis (preferably in NSW) that I could get into with this UCAT score? Thanks :D
Hey again guys, do others agree that it is possible to get a UNSW interview with this score? Also WSU?

Would UAdelaide be a good shout?

Your 660VR / 3030 looks not enough for WSU non-GWS. Iirc last year NSW non-GWS was around 760 formula.

Your ATAR >99.5 could be 99.55 to 99.95, too big a range to determine for UNSW, sorry.

Would UAdelaide be a good shout?
If your EAS qualifies for SATAC UES your ATAR would be boosted to 99.95. With 3190 you'd definitely get a Flinders offer without doing an interview.

With UES Adelaide is around 40-50% (lower than UNSW coz Adelaide offers ~140 places total vs UNSW 190).

Thanks. Do you know how they calculate?Last year 3100 was 94. About 4 years ago 3190 was 99.so different.
UCAT percentile is a rank. Whether 3100 = 94%ile or 97%ile depends on how the whole UCAT ANZ sitters perform in that year.

How about WSU GWS? Does that have a lower requirement that I can meet?

And with expected ATAR, based on ATAR calcs it sits at projected ~99.7 (hopefully higher), would that be possible?
Thanks :)

Again iirc last year GWS was 710 formula. Please do your own formula calc see where it sits.

My approximate rule of thumb for UNSW interview is 99.5+95%ile or 99.9+92%ile.

So 99.7 would interpolate to around 93-94%ile, let's wait see where your 3030 will end up. If the UCAT cohort this year do less well than last year you'll get a higher %ile (for the same total score).

Ah alright, I see what you mean. Thanks a lot, appreciate the help A1 :)

Sat UCAT last week and achieved the following:

VR: 630
DM:770
QR: 800
AR: 870
=3070
SJ: 690
+ predicted atar of 99.7
I'm a yr 12 perth (non rural) applicant hoping for UWA or Curtin. Can anyone suggest the likelihood of interviews for these two unis and if they use SJ at all?
Thanks :)

Thanks. I noted raw score for percentages has been increasing scince 2019.

Part of that could likely be explained by the fact that UCAT was new in Aus so as more years tick by, you’ve got a progressively larger cohort of people sitting the test for the second, third, fourth etc time. Given prior exposure to the test is the best prep, most individuals will find they improve their performance.

You’d think this component of the driving push to higher scores would have to level out/become minimal at some point but I’ve no idea when that point is most likely to be.

Hey I got a 2980 and 674 sjt so 3654 total, wanting to get into dentistry, I'm a higher education student with a 7.00 GPA, what are my chances at different dental courses

Hey guys, would a 3617 total UCAT and a 99.00 ATAR be competitive for a UQ dent offer? I am a NSW interstate student.

These two schools don't use the SJ score.

I think I saw 80ish %ile local WA got UWA interviews last year. You should be good for one. Offer chance is probably 50/50.

Curtin is a nutcase, I can't work out what they do. Despite having said interview selection is on 60%ATAR + 40%UCAT (which would be in your 99.7's favour), Curtin has used a formula that skews in favour of high UCAT over high ATAR. That said 3070 should be enough but don't hold me to it.

I noted raw score for percentages has been increasing scince 2019.
Adding to DrLMG's reply, yes the uptrend has been quite disconcerting. After its increase in 2020 then a bigger one 2021 I was so convinced it gotta flatten out last year. But it proved me seriously wrong haha.
