The Gap year part, my parents are freaking out lol.
Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) - Future Students - University of Queensland go down to the part where it displays the distribution of people entering the course and it shows np on the higher education, it means that there are a number of students they just don't publish for privacy reasons (you can essentially approximate based on the other numbers) also a good thing to go by is if they don't specifically state that it is for high school leavers only; then anyone can apply. I am applying for it and I am non standard.

Hey guys, for WSU registration I put my entry category as school leaver, but it then asked me if Im a current school leaver to which I said no (since Im on a gap year, I assumed current meant yr 12 in 2019). Is what I did correct?

Sounds correct. In any case, WSU don't weigh 2019 school leavers vs 2018 school leavers any differently.

Has UWA released their predicted atar form yet? In their website they said they will email directly to everyone who has applied throught TISC.

Outta curiosity, UCAT rankings are from 1-99 whilst UMAT rankings are 0-20/21-100.
Does this mean that UCAT has 99 brackets of percentiles and UMAT has 101 brackets of percentiles (assuming we are taking each number inclusively for each exam)? Or do we assume that whatever our UCAT ranking is is just 1 less than our would-be UMAT ranking?

Acer's reported percentiles from 0-100 and Pearson 1-99. And I believe that universities will take your scaled scores into consideration.

This screenshot from an old UMAT score report makes me think ACER also reports 0th percentiles - so ACER seemingly divides the cohort into 101 parts while Pearson only divides it into 99.

Exactly what I hypothesised, but we may never know :) I do think that adding one to our UCAT percentile isn't unreasonable - after all, there is no 100th percentile anymore

Couple of posters have put up a convincing case that UMAT had 99 full %ile brackets + two half-brackets for 0%ile = 0-0.5 and 100%ile = 99.5+.

I'm convinced UCAT is 0%ile to 99%ile. Put 1200 into the %ile calculator it says 1st %ile meaning *better* than 1% of candidates. 1200 can't be better than any so technically that should be 0%ile.

Hi, what does it mean to defer a med offer (if that's even possible) and why do people usually do it? If I get into med interstate or overseas and I want a year or two to save up my own money, should I defer? Is that how it works? Thanks :)

Most schools will allow you to defer one year, only one school (I think UQ) allows up to two years. Deferring to work/save money is commonly accepted. We have had at least two cases of deferring interstate offers to try home state again the next year, and got it. Also one case of forced deferring to a 15yo.

Update for you: I have just received my predicte atar form in my email account. They only send it to people who have indicated a WA address.

I read that Adelaide let you do two years for dent, not sure about med though.

Thanks so much! Do they let you resume another degree in the meantime at another uni (say nursing)? If I make it interstate, I don't want to put pressure on my parents to fund me, so I need to fund myself. They'd still want me in uni in the meantime though.

Except one or two schools not mentioning it (can't remember which), most do not allow you to undertake studies during the deferred "gap" year.

Hello people,

Is there anyway I can find out eligbility for UES? There seems to be only minimal amounts online

EDIT: i am referring to the schools-based equity portion, do i need to apply for it or is it automatically applied?

Are you talking about EAS? Yes, you do need to apply for it.

You can find plenty of information here: Educational Access Schemes - UAC

UES - the south australian University Equities Scheme

'School based points will be automatically added in the calculation of students selection rank by SATAC. ' from the flinders website
