Just a heads up that starting uni would make someone ineligible for Griffith and Flinders provisional entry, so lilzab wouldn't be able to start tertiary studies during a gap year for this option to be viable.lilzab - Your understanding of all your options seems pretty spot on (with the exception that you’ll be sitting UCAT, not UMAT, from now on for undergraduate courses). However, have you bothered to apply interstate for Griffith or Flinders given your ATAR? I’d advise you do that this year through another TAC, then defer an offer if you were to receive one. This way you could start Physio at Monash, but then if you decided you’d prefer to study medicine interstate, you could simply commence the course in 2020.
In terms of job prospects, while I’m no expert, I think the pharmacy job market is becoming very saturated - and certainly getting a hospital pharmacy job is very, very competitive. You’d be much more likely to find a community pharmacy job, if you were to find one at all. In that regard, I’d expect you to have less difficulty finding a job in medical imaging (but I’d recommend actually talking to some pharmacists and radiographers to hear their perspective as well).
Good luck![]()
Oh you're completely correct, apologies - my recommended course of action would only be applicable if lilzab were to defer the physio offer as well. Sorry for the confusion!Just a heads up that starting uni would make someone ineligible for Griffith and Flinders provisional entry, so lilzab wouldn't be able to start tertiary studies during a gap year for this option to be viable.
Just checking, when applying via QTAC, is it only Bachelor of Medical Science (MD Provisional Entry for School-Leavers) at both Griffith GC and Nathan campuses? Are there any others?
Thanks for the help
Does anyone know? There is a Sunshine Coast course also. I am not 100% sure what it is titled in QTAC.
anyone know how I would get my combined GPA-ATAR equivalent for UNSW? I called UNSW and they said only UAC has that information, so I called UAC and then they said only the universities know, so Im a little confused as to who actually determines my combined ATAR. Is there like a table somewhere that shows the conversion rates?
Please see this post > GPA ATAR Conversion/Equiv Rank by UAC
They'll come out via UAC and QTAC's January offer rounds - Jan 11 and Jan 16. Last year's cutoffs were 99.65 for both GC and Nathan, and 99.35 for USC (these are based off the lowest ATARs we had on MSO to report offers for the 2018 intake).when is Griffith uni offers come out? Does anyone know last years cutoffs for Griffith Gold Coast and Nathan QLD?

I was wondering if anyone could give an indication of my chances of being accepted into Monash.
I got a 99.35 ATAR and 95th percentile UMAT (65:65:57).
I am eligible for the Dean's Rural List and have received an interview offer.
I am not sure if I should accept the invitation as interstate travel is very expensive and it won't be worth it if I don't get offered a place.
Thanls![]()
Thanks for the quick response! If I am indeed a competitive applicant then I will definitely make the trip over eastYou mentioned in an earlier post that Monash is your preferred university. If that’s still the case, then you kinda hafta give the interview a go! You would definitely be very competitive.

Im having a lot of trouble deciding my preferences. Any input as to whether I should put UNSW or JMP as my first preference would be appreciated.
I would normally 100% put JMP as my first preference due to the fact that
1.its 5 years vs UNSW's 6 years
2. I have a better chance at JMP.
3. Newcastle looks pretty cool
However, the chance that I get accepted into JMP at Armidale campus rather than Newcastle campus makes me lean towards UNSW more. I've already lived in a country town for my whole life and going back to a town with a below average campus/night life doesn't appeal at all.
How do they determine who goes to which campus for JMP? Is it based purely on interview scores (ie. highest scores get their first preference, lowest interview score gets what they're given) ,or is there more to it? If it means anything, I think I did better in my JMP interview and my overall chances with JMP are better.
