In what order would you rank chance of getting offers from each university assuming I do good in the interview with my current UCAT/ GPA?
Hi community2019,

Dent: I've no idea how WAM conversions work but based on that UCAT score, I'd apply for Adelaide & La Trobe dent. Work out your GPA and see if they've matched or better previous offers in our offers thread.

Hi room1,

Dent: Should be good for UQ, UAdel, CSU, UWA, La Trobe. I don't know much about USyd dent tbh as we don't have much past data for them, sorry!

Physio IV, JMP Medicine I (2021)
Just reposting for dent interview chances! I also have a few questions as well.

91st percentile, 2860 total, 71 WAM. Non-standard.
1. Chances for interview to any dental school?
2. Even though my first priority is medicine, will attending dentistry interviews benefit me/prepare me for medicine interviews?

Applying for: Medicine
Application Type: (1st year of Pre Medicine at UOW
Predicted ATAR/GPA: (Atar 94.75/ GPA around 5.5 (low))
UCAT Percentile Rank: 63
VR: 590
DM: 660
QR: 690
AR: 720
Total: 2560
SJ: 668
Current State: NSW
Applying to:
anywhere
Rural Applicant: (no)
GWS Applicant: (yes)
Indigenous Applicant: (no)
Other: no
Specific Question: Do I have any chance at all? These numbers I know are extremely low compared to most Ive seen here, which makes me feel awful but I thought why not give it a try. Also, if I dont disclose that I have begun an undergraduate degree (a lot happened this year which prevented me from getting a good GPA) will universities use my ATAR instead?

Unfortunately, Bond is probably your only option. Though your ATAR may be too low for there, too, as I think it’s combined with your GPA if you only have 1 year.

Applications are through TACs who will know you have a tertiary record (and declaring otherwise will be fraud), but it won’t matter anyway as your ATAR is too low to be competitive anywhere that considers ATAR, and your UCAT is too low for those that consider UCAT. Your best bet is to concentrate on your GPA and try to grad entry via GAMSAT, though you could also do UCAT again next year for WSU or JMP.

You might have to post on the “what are my chances of getting bail from jail?” thread when they expel you for fraud haha. I pray that you didn’t use your real name as your account name and then suggest the notion of even thinking about committing fraud on an open public forum for all to see lol.

follow the official UCAT calculator. The MedEntry calculator uses a theoretical normal distribution, and while the UCAT is normal distribution-like, it does not exactly line up, hence why you get a 89%ile instead of a 90%ile. tl;dr follow ucat anz website.

You should get interview with Curtin and psycho test with Bond.
I'm optimistic 89%ile will get a JMP interview. It's likely too low for WSU though.

For UNSW interview I need to know your ATAR. With 89%ile you will likely need around 99.5 equiv Rank, your completed degree 6.2 gives ~99.3 so you need ATAR 99.7 to combine to 99.5.

You can also try JCU.

Specific Question: Do you think I am doing the correct thing by not bothering to apply to UNSW? Also I am convinced I won't get a WSU interview based on my SJ, to say I neglected it (to the point I skipped all the questions in my mocks) after I heard the JMP wasn't going to bother with it is an understatement, and now I am kicking myself.
Your SJ score is not that bad so don't give up on WSU yet.
Also I don't know why you don't want to try UNSW. Your GPA 6.5 gives 99.5, combines with 99.3 to 99.4 equiv Rank. That with 95%ile will get you an interview with about 40% offer chance. Better chance than JMP & WSU.

I was going to say you might get UQ bonded until I realised you are from NZ ineligible for BMP.

If indeed 99.95 you will get an offer from Flinders, Griffith and interviews with all the schools you mentioned with about 60% offer chance for USyd, maybe 40% Monash, 30% Adelaide.

But note carefully you have to ensure your CIE results + ATAR conversion are available to the TACs by early January to be considered.

Very high chances you will get an interview with both schools. I remember section1 cutoff for JMP rural was as low as 52 (mid-50s %ile). Last year several rurals got WSU interviews then offers with low-70s %ile as shown in the collated data
> Aus Med and Dent Place Offers 2019 - Collated Data

You should also apply to JCU, being RA3 plus 6.7 GPA will give very good chances. Good luck.
